发明领域
本发明涉及无线信令的方法和装置,尤其涉及用于生成、传送、和/或使用关于和/或提供自噪声信息的报告的方法和装置。
背景
在蜂窝无线系统中,基站常常需要同时向多个无线终端传达用户数据/信息。在下行链路——即从基站(BS)到无线终端(WT)的链路中,一个重要问题是向同一BS同时服务的不同WT分配基站发射机功率。每个BS通常具有可用于所有下行链路通信的总发射功率预算,并且该功率通常在多个WT之间共享。分配给蜂窝小区中一WT的基站发射机功率将影响到该WT的收到信噪比(SNR),后者又影响到从基站到该WT的无线通信链路所能支持的下行链路数据率。这样,取决于不同WT的话务需求和信道状况,功率分配可被用来调节对不同WT的下行链路数据率。
其中出现这种功率分配问题的一种无线系统是支持源自同一基站发射机的不同下行链路用户数据对不同无线终端的并发传输的多用户正交频分复用(OFDM)无线通信系统。
实现这种潜在可能的多址OFDM下行链路的一个问题在于基站需要执行恰当的功率分配。对于下行链路话务段的任意指派的数据率选项,BS需要正确地为该段分配足够的发射机功率以使其可靠地在目标WT处被接收。如果分配了太小的功率,则该段的解码将可能失败并需要重新传输。如果分配的功率过大,则意味着功率被浪费且所浪费的功率原本可用于该基站所服务的其它WT。
理想地,可用于下行链路话务通信的每个数据率选项具有一相应的最小收到SNR的要求,以及理想地,该收到SNR将与收到功率成线性比例。因此,在理想情况下,WT可测量在单个参考信号电平上的SNR,并随后将该SNR报告回基站。已知在假定理想情况下SNR与功率呈线性比例,对于任意调度的数据率选项,基站可相对于该参考信号调节发射机功率以确保该段以针对该数据率的正确SNR被接收。
然而,实际上,WT接收机处理引入了诸如信道估计错误、相位抖动、以及时基和频率偏移等误差。这些误差通常与收到功率成比例,并且实质上向噪声添加了信号依赖分量。这种噪声分量有时被称为“自噪声”以将其与独立于信号处理的外部和热噪声区别开来。在存在自噪声的情况下,收到SNR不再与收到功率成线性比例。特别地,随着收到功率的增大,SNR最终在一取决于该自噪声的最大水平上饱和。
在存在自噪声的情况下,WT不能再简单地报告在单个功率电平上的SNR,并期望基站能够确定对应不同数据率选项的正确发射功率。根据单个SNR测量,BS不能将自噪声与外部噪声分量分离开,并因此不能准确外插出获得任何其它SNR所需的功率。
自噪声的问题在近来开发成的提供高下行链路数据率的无线技术中特别重要。这些系统提供在高SNR(经常超过20dB)上的数据率,在这种高SNR情况下自噪声分量是显著的。同时,由于这些服务要在移动、衰落环境中、或者具有显著延迟扩展的长距离应用中提供,因此自噪声分量将变得更加明显。因而BS能正确地选择其对应不同下行链路话务信道段的发射功率来对抗自噪声是非常重要的。
因此,无线通信系统中需要涉及无线终端自噪声信息的测量、确定、报告、和/或使用的方法和装置。
概要
本发明针对用于生成、传送、和/或使用关于和/或提供自噪声信息的报告的方法和装置。
根据本发明的操作无线终端的一种示例性方法包括确定下行链路信噪比饱和度并例如使用OFDM信令向基站传送所述确定的信噪比饱和度。在各种实施例中,经量化的值被传送以表示确定的信噪比饱和度。在一些实施例中,该经量化的值是使用专用于无线终端的专用控制信道段来传送的,但也可使用其它方法来传送。专用控制信道段可以是循环预定上行链路时基结构的每一次迭代期间被保留以传达信噪比饱和度报告的段。作为另一示例,专用控制信道段可以是被保留以供无线终端使用的段,其中无线终端选择传达信噪比饱和度报告或诸如上行链路话务信道请求报告等其它报告。一个特定示例性信噪比饱和度报告传达比特码型被设为十六种码型之一的4个信息比特,每种码型对应一不同的量化级。在一些但不一定是所有实施例中,下行链路信噪比饱和度是无线终端对由基站以无穷大功率发射的收到信号——如果该无线终端能够接收并处理该信号——将测得的下行链路信噪比。在各个示例性实施例中,下行链路信噪比饱和度是无线终端自噪声的函数。在一些示例性实施例中,确定下行链路信噪比饱和度基于测得的信道估计误差。在同一或其它实施例中,确定下行链路信噪比饱和度基于至少一个接收机特性,例如接收机滤波器类型、放大器类型、模数转换器采样率。

现在将描述一示例性4比特的下行链路自噪声SNR饱和度报告(DLSSNR4)。在一些实施例中,WT导出DL SNR的饱和度,其被定义为在基站扇区(BSS)以无穷大功率发射信号的情况下WT接收机将对收到信号测得的DL SNR。该饱和度可以是并且在一些实施例中是由WT接收机的自噪声决定的,而后者可能由诸如信道估计误差等因素导致。以下是导出DL SNR的饱和度的示例性方法。

鉴于本发明的以上描述,上述发明的方法和装置的许多其它变形对于本领域的技术人员将是显而易见的。这些变形也被考虑在本发明的范围之内。本发明的方法和装置可以并且在各种实施例中被用于CDMA、正交频分复用(OFDM)、和/或可用于在接入节点与移动节点之间提供无线通信链路的各种其它类型的通信技术中。在一些实施例中,接入节点是作为使用OFDM和/或CDMA建立与移动节点的通信链路的基站来实现的。在各个实施例中,移动节点是作为用于实现本发明的方法的笔记本计算机、个人数字助理(PDA)、或包括接收机/发射机电路和逻辑和/或例程的其它便携式设备来实现的。

Claims (27)

1.一种操作无线终端的方法,所述方法包括:
i)确定下行链路信噪比饱和度;以及
ii)传送所述确定的信噪比饱和度。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述传送包括将所述信噪比饱和度传送至基站。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述传送包括将所述信噪比饱和度作为使用OFDM信号传送的经量化的值来传送。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述下行链路信噪比饱和度是所述无线终端对接收到的由基站以无穷大功率发射的信号将测得的下行链路信噪比。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,所述下行链路信噪比饱和度是无线终端自噪声的函数。
6.如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,所述确定所述信噪比饱和度的步骤是基于测得的信道估计误差的。
7.如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,所述确定所述信噪比饱和度的步骤还基于所述无线终端中包括的接收机模块的至少一个接收机特性。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,所述至少一个接收机特性是以下之一:接收机滤波器类型、放大器类型、以及模数转换器采样率。
9.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述传送步骤是在预定上行链路时基结构中专用于所述下行链路信噪比饱和度信息的传输的预定上行链路传输单元中执行的。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括:
重复步骤i)和ii)。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其特征在于,所述传送步骤是根据专用于所述无线终端的上行链路信道上专用于传输下行链路信噪比饱和度信息的传输单元的出现而执行的。
12.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述传输步骤以多种预定报告值之一的形式传送报告。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于,所述预定报告值是4比特的值,每个值对应一不同的量化级。
14.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括:
在执行所述传送步骤之前,作出关于是否要在专用于所述无线终端的可供所述无线终端可选择在其中传送所述下行链路信噪比饱和度或是其它信息的上行链路传输单元中传送所述下行链路信噪比饱和度的确定。
15.如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,确定下行链路信噪比饱和度包括:
测量对应于空基站输出的频调的收到功率以由此确定干扰功率N;
测量导频信号的收到功率GP0
确定所述收到导频信号的信噪比SNR0;以及
根据以下公式计算所述下行链路信噪比饱和度:
下行链路信噪比饱和度=(1/SNR0-N/(GP0))-1
16.一种无线终端,所述无线终端包括:
下行链路信噪比饱和度确定模块;以及
传输模块,用于传送所述确定的信噪比饱和度。
17.如权利要求16所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述传输模块包括OFDM发射机。
18.如权利要求16所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述传输模块被耦合至用于向基站发射所述信噪比饱和度的天线。
19.如权利要求16所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述下行链路信噪比饱和度是所述无线终端对接收到的由基站以无穷大功率发射的信号将测得的下行链路信噪比。
20.如权利要求19所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述信噪比饱和度是无线终端自噪声的函数。
21.如权利要求19所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述确定模块包括用于测量确定所述信噪比饱和度时使用的信道估计误差的信道估计测量模块。
22.如权利要求21所述的无线终端,其特征在于,还包括:
存储器,其包括被所述确定模块用来确定所述信噪比饱和度的存储的接收机特性信息。
23.如权利要求22所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述存储的接收机特性信息包括以下至少之一:接收机滤波器类型、放大器类型、以及模数转换器采样率信息。
24.如权利要求18所述的无线终端,其特征在于,还包括:包括上行链路时基结构信息的存储器;以及
用于根据所述上行链路时基结构信息控制所述传输模块何时传送所述确定的信噪比饱和度的传输控制模块。
25.如权利要求24所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述传输控制模块根据如所述上行链路时基结构信息所指示的专用于所述无线终端的上行链路信道上专用于传输下行链路信噪比饱和度信息的传输单元的出现来控制下行链路信噪比饱和度信息的传输。
26.如权利要求16所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述下行链路信噪比饱和度是以多种预定报告值之一的形式传送的。
27.如权利要求26所述的无线终端,其特征在于,所述预定报告值是4比特的值,每个值对应于一不同的下行链路信噪比饱和度量化级。
