Description

J. A. WALSH.
LIQUID DISPENSER. APP ucAnoN FILED JUNE 16. I919.
Patented July 29 JOSEPH A. WALSH, OF WEST NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY.
LIQUID-DISPENSER.
Application filed June 16, 1919.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOSEPH A. WALSH, a citizen of the United States, and resident of West' New York, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements 1n Liquid-Dispensers, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple, cheap and efficient liquid dispenser, such as adapted for dispensing liquid soap. My invention comprises a container, which may be in the form of a bottle having a suitable discharge nozzle, a band secured around the container, and a supporting frame therefor having spaced arms w th inturned ends pivotally connected with such band on opposite sides of the container, and the latter is provided on opposite sides w1th dents in its surface opposing the inturned ends of the supporting frame. By preference such inturned ends of the frame are riveted or headed over the inner surface of the band and enter the dents in the con tainer whereby the latter may be partially rotatively supported upon the headed ends of the frame arms and the container is kept from rotating axially therein.
My invention comprises novel deta1ls of improvement that will be more fully hereinafter set forth and then pointed out in the claims. 4
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a liquid dispenser embodying my invention Fig. 2 is a cross section on the line 2-2 in Fig. 1:
Fig. 3 is an enlarged detail section on the line 33 in Fig. 1, and
Fig. 4 is a detail exterior view of a portion of the container looking from the left in Fig. 3.
Similar numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.
A container indicated at 1 may be in the nature of a bottle of any suitable shape and dimensions, shown having a, neck 1 provided with a delivery nozzle 2 which may be in the form of an ordinary stopper havingan outlet orifice 2. At 3 is a band. which may be of suitable metal, fitted around the container. The band is shown provided with projecting ends 3 which may be clamped together by screw or bolt 46* to Specification of Letters Patent.
'The dispenser is cheap Patented July 29, 1919.

securely retain the band around the container. The container is shown provided with an annular groove 5 in which the band 3 is fastened. A supporting frame or bracket is-indicated at 6 shown in the form of a wire bent to provide the loop portion 6 and the spaced, outwardly projecting, substantially parallel arms 6 The arms 6 are at substantially right angles to the loop portion 6, whereby the latter may be fitted against a wall or other support and retained by a screw. passing through the loop so that arms 6 extend forwardly to support the container pivotally. The outer free ends of the arms 6 straddle the container and are bent or extended inwardly to form inturned projections 6. Said projections extend toward band 3 and pass respectively through opposing holes 7 in the band,
. whereby the latter is swiveled upon the projections 6 The inner ends of the inturned projections 6 after being passed through holes 7 of the band 3 are riveted over or headed at 8, whereby the arms 6 are permanently retained pivotally supporting band 3. The wall of the container 3 on opposite sides, opposing the headed end portions 8 of supporting arms 6", is dented at 9 to receive the riveted or headed portions 8 extending inwardly from hand 3. The dents 9 may be formed in the container, either of glass or other suitable material, when the same is molded, pressed, or blown to shape. The dents 9 in the wall of the container are adapted to cooperate in the pivotal support of the container upon arms 6", and also serve to prevent the container from rotating axially within the band, hence, the latter is not required to be exception- 1 ally tightly fastened around the container.
When the bracket is supported as before stated the container will hang therefrom, as illustrated, with the stopper 2 extending upwardly. When it is desired to dispense the liquid contents the container may be tilted or turned upside down so that the liquid will run out of the nozzle. and when'the container is released it will automatically return to the hanging position as shown. to manufacture, thereby enabling it to be sold with liquid soap therein, is not liable to get out of order, and the parts re not likely to become broken or detached.
Having thus described my invention,
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is -1. A soap dispenser comprising a container having dents in itsexterior, a band secured around the container over the dents, and a supporting frame having arms provided With end portions pivotally connected with the band and headed on the inner surface thereof opposing said dents.
2. A soap dispenser comprising a container having an external groove and dents in its Walhon opposite sides Within the groove, a bandisecured round the container Within the groove and provided with holes, a supporting frame having spaced arms on opposite sides of the container the free ends of the arms'having inturned ends extending through the holes in the band and having the inner ends thereof headed along the inner face of the' banchthe headed portions extending into said dents.
3 A "soap dispensercomprising a container, a band secured around the container, a supporting framecomprising a piece of of u A e-" ,9,19-
Wire having a loop and spaced arms extending therefrom at an angle thereto, said arms having inwardly extending portions at their free ends, said band having holes pivotally receiving the said end portions, the latter being. headed over the inner surface of the band.
4,. A soap dispenser comprising a container, a band secured around the container, a supporting frame comprising a piece of Wire having a loop and spaced arms extend ing therefrom at an angle thereto, said arms having inwardly extending portions at their free ends, said band having holes pivotally receiving the said end portions, the latter being headed over the inner surface of the band, Said container having dents in its Wall on opposite sides receiving said eded. eds,-
