ATTORNEY Patented Feb. 2l, 1928.
UNITED STATES KBIKOR ATAMIAN, F COBAM, MONTANA.
DUSTING BRUSH.
Application Vtiled May 18,
This invention relates to a brush used for dusting powder on certain parts of tbe body of a person, the general ob]ect of the inventionv being to provide means for holding the brush in upright position through means of a suction cup, with means for fastening the cup to the handle. y v
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the 0 combination and arrangement of the several parts. to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated` in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail., reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or correspondingr parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is an elevation of the improved device.
Figure 2 is a section on line 2-2 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a section on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
In these views, 1 indicates the hollow handle which is provided with an enlarged end 2 having the threads 2i formed thereon ior receiving the threaded portion of the cap 4 to which the brush head 5 is fastened by nails or the like. The bristles are shown at 6 and a recess 7 is formed in the innner iace of the head, and through the center ot, the head passes a tapered outlet tube 9, the inner end of which is in communication with the recess. The other endet the handle l is closed by means of a weighted plugl 1() and the stem 11 of the vacuum cup 1Q, the stem 11 having a socket therein for receiving a portion of the plug yl() and the stem 11 is held on the plug by means of a split wire ring 13 which is embedded in the stem. The

parts and l1 are held in the handle by means of the annular shoulders 14 engaging the annular grooves 15 formed in the 45 handle.
From the foregoing it will be seen that Whenever the bristles of the brush are to have .powder placed thereon, it is simply necessary to reverse-the brush so that some of the owder in the handle thereof will pass throng the discharge tube 9 on to the bristles so that by brushm the parts of the bodyl of a person with these ristles, said parts will be covered with powder. When the handle becomes empty, the cap 4 can be removed and powder placed in the handle through the upper end thereof. The weight 10 and the vacuum cup 12 will act to firmly hold theA device in upright position when placed on a flat surface.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is In combination with a dusting brush having a hollow handle, a plug closing the rear end of the handle and having an outwardly extending reduced portion. a suction cup having a portion fitting in the outer end of the hollow handle, said portion having a .socket for receiving the reduced portionV of the plug, the handle having annular grooves therein and the plug and suction cup having beads thereon fitting in the grooves for holding the plug and cup in position.
In testimony whereof I aiix my signature.
