Description

    Game Rules
    • Line: Line must have ½ points to prevent ties. The line is a fixed amount prior to the initiation of betting.
    • Losers pay winners
    • To win: you must pick the winner considering the spread and you must pick the spread loser's actual number of points scored. The MONEY MACHINE loser and winner are determined by using the spread. The winning team for purposes of MONEY MACHINE may be the actual loser of the sporting event and the MONEY MACHINE loser may be the winning team of the actual sporting event. Winner in these rules refers to spread winner and loser refers to spread loser.
    • Scores which are not chosen and scores which are not on the board will result in the total payout pool being paid to the house. If an individual bettor is to receive from a winning bet a payout that involves pennies or cents, then the actual amount the winning bettor shall receive will be reduced to the next lowest whole dollar amount. The pennies or the cents portion of the winning bet shall be paid to the house.
    Definitions and Game Operation
  • Bet:
  • The bet is the amount of money an individual bettor places with an individual bet on a possible winning team considering the spread and the score of the possible spread loser on a particular sporting event . A $5.00 minimum bet is suggested. The FOOTBALL MONEY MACHINE example is set for a $12.50 minimum bet.
  • Total Wagered:
  • This is the total amount bet on a particular sporting event at a particular date and time using MONEY MACHINE. A running total will be provided to bettors on each teams money board. This amount will be fixed at the close of betting. This amount does not include the house guarantee.
  • Net Bet:
  • This is the amount of the individual bet reduced by the percentage amount given to the house. A 20% house take is suggested.
  • House Guarantee:
  • Prior to the opening of betting, the house must guarantee the minimum size of the total payout pool for each game. If and only if the total payout pool is less than the house guarantee amount, then the house guarantee amount will be used to calculate approximate payouts on minimum bets. It shall be done in the following manner: Minimum net bet divided by the winning pool multiplied by the house guarantee. At the point in time the total payout pool is equal to or greater than the house guarantee amount, then the house shall be released from the guarantee requirements. At this point in time, possible payouts on minimum bets will be calculated by using the total payout pool amount instead of the house guarantee amount. At the close of betting, if the house guarantee amount is greater than the total payout pool, then the house shall contribute to the total payout pool an amount equal to the difference between the house guarantee amount and the total payout pool.
  • Pool:
  • The pool shall be an independent account established for each number that corresponds to the potential losing team's score. There shall be an equal number of pools established for each possible losing team. An individual pool is filled with money from net bets. The house's share of the bet is removed from the bet prior to the bet money entering the pool. The net bet is the amount that actually enters the pool. A running total calculation of the amount of money in each pool shall be kept on each possible losing teams money board.
  • Losing Pools:
  • All pools in the spread winner's score pools plus all pools in the spread loser's score pools except the winning pool.
  • Individual Bettor's Net Bet:
  • This is the amount of a net bet by an individual bettor in a particular pool for a particular game.
  • Approximate Payout on Minimum Bet:
  • This approximation shall be displayed on the money board for each pool of each possibly losing team for a particular sporting event. It shall be displayed as a running calculation. If the total payout pool is equal to or greater than the house guarantee, it is calculated by dividing the minimum net bet by the amount in each particular pool and then by multiplying it by the total payout pool. If the total payout pool is less than the house guarantee, then the approximate payout on a minimum bet shall be calculated by dividing the minimum net bet by the amount in each particular pool and multiplying it by the house guarantee amount.
  • Total Payout Pool:
  • Total amount of money in all pools on a particular game at a particular date and time. A running calculation will be provided to bettors on each team's money board. At the close of betting, if necessary, the house will contribute to the total payout pool an amount sufficient so that the total payout pool is equal to the house guarantee amount. At the point in time that the sporting event result is official, the total payout pool becomes total winnings.
  • Winning Pool:
  • This pool is the one whose pool number corresponds with the official spread loser's actual score. The correct pool number shall be established by using the actual number of the spread loser's score. The winning pool is established at the official end of the sporting event.
  • Winning bettors:
  • Those bettors who correctly choose the winner considering the spread and the spread loser's actual score and correctly have placed a bet in the spread loser's pool number that corresponds to the spread loser's actual score. The line shall have no effect on matching the actual spread loser's score with the spread loser's pool number.
  • Total Winnings:
  • It is established at the official end of the sporting event and is equal to the payout pool.
  • Individual Winning Bettor Receives:
  • The amount of the individual's net bet divided by the amount in the winning pool multiplied by total winnings.
  • Football Game Design:
  • For each actual football game, there shall be 100 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 50 pools. The pools are numbered 0-50 except for number 1. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
  • NBA Game Design:
  • For each actual basketball game, there shall be 102 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 51 pools. The pools are numbered 75-126. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
  • Baseball Game Design:

Claims (1)

1. The application of pari-mutuel wagering to the above-stated sporting events in the manner stated below.
Game Rules:
Line: Line must have ½ points to prevent ties. The line is a fixed amount prior to the initiation of betting.
Losers pay winners
To win: you must pick the winner considering the spread and you must pick the spread loser's actual number of points scored.
The manner in which accounting is performed for the spread loser's score as well as the way the winner is chosen is also my invention.
Pool: The pool shall be an independent account established for each number that corresponds to the potential losing team's score.
Losing Pools: All pools in the spread winner's score pools plus all pools in the spread loser's score pools except the winning pool.
Approximate Payout on Minimum Bet: This approximation shall be displayed on the money board for each pool of each possibly losing team for a particular sporting event.
Winning Pool: This pool is the one whose pool number corresponds with the official spread loser's actual score. The correct pool number shall be established by using the actual number of the spread loser's score. The winning pool is established at the official end of the sporting event.
Winning bettors: Those bettors who correctly choose the winner considering the spread and the spread loser's actual score and correctly have placed a bet in the spread loser's pool number that corresponds to the spread loser's actual score. The line shall have no effect on matching the actual spread loser's score with the spread loser's pool number.
Total Winnings: It is established at the official end of the sporting event and is equal to the payout pool.
The following Designs for the money board are my invention:
Football Game Design: For each actual football game, there shall be 100 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 50 pools. The pools are numbered 0-50 except for number 1. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
NBA Game Design: For each actual basketball game, there shall be 102 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 51 pools. The pools are numbered 75-126. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
Baseball Game Design: For each actual baseball game, there shall be 32 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 16 pools. The pools are numbered 0-16. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
Hockey Game Design: For each actual hockey game, there shall be 20 betting pools established. Each possible losing team shall have 10 pools. The pools are numbered 0-9. The number assigned to a particular pool for a particular game corresponds to the possible spread loser's score.
The following multiple bets are my invention:
Multiple Bets:
Multiple Bets: This is a simplified method of making multiple bets in a single transaction.
Call Betting: The Bettor will be required to pick the winner considering the spread, state the amount of the individual bet and pick two or more score pools from the same predicted loser's score pools. The house will automatically place bets for the bettor on the possible winning team provided and the predicted loser's score pools provided by the bettor. All bets placed by the house will be equal to the initial bet amount stated by the bettor. The total wager amount for the call bet is the amount of the initial bet provided by the bettor multiplied by the number of bets placed on the same predicted loser's score pools. The bettor will not be required to request a call bet. It will occur automatically upon requesting a single winner and two or more bets on the same possible loser's score pools.
Block Betting: The bettor will be required to pick the winner considering the spread and provide the amount of the individual bet and provide the first and last whole number in a continuous whole number sequence. The house will automatically place bets for the bettor in the bettor's predicted loser's score pools. Bets will be placed on a loser's score pool numbers that correspond to the number sequence provided by the bettor. Bets will be placed on the first number and last number provided plus bets will also be placed on all whole numbers in between the numbers provided. The total number of bets will be equal to the first number plus the second number selected plus all of the whole numbers in between. Each bet amount will be equal to the amount initially provided by the bettor. The total amount of the wager is equal to the total number of bets multiplied by the initial bet amount provided by the bettor. All bets will be reduced by the house percentage take prior to being placed in any of the designated pools.
Football Only
Defense Wheel: The bettor will be required to pick the winner considering the spread, state the amount of the individual bet and request “defense wheel”. The house will automatically place bets for the bettor in the following predicted loser's score pools: 3, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14. The total number of bets placed by the house for the bettor is six. All six bets placed by the house will be equal to the initial bet amount stated by the bettor. The total wager amount for the defense wheel is the amount of the initial bet provided by the bettor multiplied by six.

All six bets placed by the house will be equal to the initial bet amount stated by the bettor. The total wager amount for the offense wheel is the amount of the initial bet provided by the bettor multiplied by six.
Giant Wheel: The bettor will be required to pick the winner considering the spread, state the amount of the individual bet and request “giant wheel”. The house will automatically place bets for the bettor in the following predicted loser's score pools: 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 23 and 24. The total number of bets placed by the house for the bettor is ten. All ten bets placed by the house will be equal to the initial bet amount stated by the bettor. The total wager amount for the giant wheel is the amount of the initial bet provided by the bettor multiplied by ten.
Odds Wheel: The bettor will be required to pick the winner considering the spread, state the amount of the individual bet and request “odds wheel”.
