Abstract

A decoration hanger comprised of at least three layers, attached at the upper portion to form a solid piece and the bottom portions being separate layers that have adhesive stripping used for the placement of multiple decorations. The device is preferably made from lightweight, flexible material and two dimensional when flat for easier shipping and storage. When is use by the consumer, the decoration hanger would be mounted by adhesive stripping located on the upper portion of the back of the base layer, then any lightweight decorations would be attached using the adhesive stripping located on the front of the base layer, the back and the front of the middle layer and the back of the top layer. After use, removal of the hanger is aided by a tab that helps in the prevention of damage to the surfaces to which the hanger is mounted.

Description

  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 60/964,754, filed Aug. 15, 2007.
  • The crepe paper decoration hanger is comprised of at least three layers, which can be of equal or varied sizes, attached at the top portion, to form one solid piece, allowing the bottom portion of the layers to be used either individually or in conjunction with other layers. The device has covered self adhesive stripping attached to the the back, lower portion of the top layer, the back and front lower portion of the middle layer and the front lower portion of the base layer that allows for the placement of multiple decorations from one hanger. The top of the back of the base layer has covered, self adhesive stripping that is used to securely mount the hanger with the addition of a tab that aids in the removal of the hanger after use.
  • When the layers of the hanger are in use, the covered self adhesive stripping located on the top portion of the back of the base layer would be mounted to the surface to be decorated, then the covered self adhesive stripping on the lower portion of the front of the base layer would be used to mount decorations, i.e. streamers, ribbons, beads, or any lightweight decoration. After placement of decorations, the covered, self adhesive stripping located on the back lower portion of the middle hanger would then be used in conjunction to secure the decorations. The covered self adhesive stripping located on the front lower portion of the middle hanger would be used to add additional decorations, i.e. streamers, ribbons, beads, or any lightweight decoration.
  • After placement of these additional decorations, the covered self adhesive stripping located on the lower portion of the back of the top layer would be used in conjunction to secure the decorations.
  • The decoration hanger is preferably constructed i.e., die-cut from a lightweight, flexible material with or without colors, graphics, themes, sayings or designs of any kind. The two dimensional aspect of the decoration hanger when laid flat allows for easier shipping and storage and can be “stacked” without fear of damage to the product.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is an inexpensive, pre-assembled party decoration hanger that allows the use of multiple hanging decorations from one hanger to another hanger to be hung securely. Traditionally thumbtacks, tape and push pins have been used for this purpose with less than satisfactory results. The means mentioned above, such as thumbtacks, tape or push pins may not anchor decorations sufficiently or may cause damage to the surfaces to which they are attached, such as holes, tearing or damage to painted surfaces. This method of “attaching” decorations quickly loses it's appeal when “falling” decorations or “damage” to surfaces become apparent. The present invention provides a decorative, easy to use and easy to remove alternative to the methods used in the past. The decoration hanger allows the user to hang multiple decorations using the layers of the hanger to securely hold the decorations in place, then to suspend the decoration to another hanger within the area to be decorated. The addition of a tab that is attached to the covered, self adhesive stripping that is used in mounting the hanger aids in the removal of the hanger after use and also aids in the prevention of damages to the surface that the hanger is mounted to. The decoration hanger of the present invention is preferably made with a lightweight material that is a colorful, decorative alternative to the methods of the past. Thus a highly desirable decoration hanger with the ability to hang multiple decorations is provided. With the options of colors, graphics, greetings, sayings, holiday themes or any occasion where party decorations are desired, the present invention allows the user to have a desirable, decorative alternative to the methods of the past.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The claimed invention is a crepe paper decoration hanger that allows the hanging of multiple decorations from one hanger. Traditionally, thumbtacks, push pins and tape have been used for the purpose of hanging decorations, i.e. crepe paper streamers, with less than satisfactory results. The means mentioned above, such as thumbtacks, tape or push pins may not anchor decorations sufficiently or may cause damage to the surfaces to which they are attached, such as holes, tearing or damage to painted surfaces. The crepe paper decoration hanger allows the user to hang multiple decorations securely without the fear of “falling” decorations. The covered, self adhesive stripping that is used to mount the hanger has a tab attached that aids in the removal of the device and also aids in the prevention of damage to the surface that the hanger is mounted to. The object of the present invention is to have a desirable, decorative alternative means to hang decorations compared to the methods of the past.
