Canyoning or Canyoneering is an exciting multi-sport adventure that is gaining popularity for the masses. This tour combines ziplining, waterfall rappelling, and hiking along with optional swimming and cliff jumping as high as 25 feet. At Jaco Canyoning, couples have the opportunity to experience true Canyoning even if they have never been in a harness.
Just 20 minutes from Jaco, couples will arrive at the base to start their adventure. They'll hop in the 44 safari vehicle and drive up the mountain over 1000 to get to the private reserve. The guide will stop along the way to point out interesting flora and fauna and the incredible views of the ocean and countryside. When couplesarrive at the top, theywill be outfitted with the latest and safest gear from Black Diamond in the USA. Couples will be instructed on the safe and proper use of the equipment then begin their five-minute hike to the first zipline.
After two zips over the river, couples will do a dry training rappel to get familiarized with the proper technique. A short hike down river and couples will have some swimming and cliff jumping (4-25) opportunities if they desire! Now it is time to get wet! Four rappels through the waterfalls and couples will do it all on their own. At all times theywill be safe and backed up by their guides! After a short climb up, couples will exit the canyon and hike 15-20 minutes back to the truck.
Be sure to bring a swimsuit, water, shoes that can get wet, and cash for tips, etc.
