This Ford Torino got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1968 Ford Torino GT hardtop was acquired by the seller in 1990 and is finished in light blue with dark blue GT stripes over a dark and light blue vinyl interior. The car is powered by a replacement 302ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 14″ wheels with GT center caps along with power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, a hood scoop and pins, a dual exhaust system, auxiliary gauges, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The car is said to have had long-term registration in Arizona before being acquired by the seller in Indiana. This Torino GT is offered at no reserve with a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.
The car was factory-finished in Diamond Blue (N) and was refinished in light blue with dark blue rocker panel GT stripes in 1997 after the lower portions of the rear quarter panels underwent sheet metal repair. Details include chrome bumpers, trim, and badging as well as a hood scoop, body-color side mirrors, and chrome hood pins. Close-up photos of blemishes including paint chips and scuffs as well as flaking paint on the package shelf and a crack in the windshield are shown in the gallery below.
Styled 14″ wheels wear GT-branded center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The interior features front and rear bench seats upholstered in dark and light blue vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities consist of front shoulder and lap belts and a push-button AM/FM radio. The factory air conditioning equipment was removed. The two-spoke steering wheel features woodgrain trim and sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer, supplementary gauges, and an analog clock. Aftermarket auxiliary gauges are mounted under the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, and the seller states the odometer has rolled over. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2V 302ci V8 is said to have been overhauled in the early 2000s and is fitted with a two-barrel carburetor and a blue-finished air cleaner housing and valve covers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a SelectShift three-speed C4 automatic transmission and an 8″ rear axle. The seller states that the transmission was overhauled in 2005, and a differential noise is noted.
