This Superformance MKIII is a black-over-black Cobra replica that is said to have been completed in 2002 and was acquired by the seller on BaT in February 2021. It is powered by a 557ci Ford V8 paired with a TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission. Work under current ownership consisted of replacing suspension components, changing the oil, and installing sway bars, LED headlights, and heated seats. Additional equipment includes 15″ Halibrand-style knock-off wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, MSD ignition, side-exit exhaust pipes, Deist harnesses, and a driver-side roll hoop. This Cobra replica is offered with spare wheels, a convertible soft top, side curtains, engine build sheets, a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin, and a clean Illinois title listing the car as a 1965 Superformance.

The car is finished in black and is equipped with a hood scoop, fender vents, ceramic-coated side-exit exhaust pipes, a roll hoop, wind wings, and chrome bumperettes. The seller states LED headlights were installed.

Halibrand-style 15″ wheels wear knock-off hubs and 255/60 front and 295/50 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that should be replaced due to age. Wilwood disc brakes are fitted at all four corners. The seller notes front and rear sway bars and adjustable coilovers were fitted.

The heated bucket seats are trimmed in black leather and are joined by a color-coordinated dash, carpets, and door panels. Features include Deist harnesses, sun visors, and a polished fire extinguisher mounted between the seats.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 930 miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller.

The 460ci Ford V8 was stroked to 557ci by Performance Engineering of Ross, Ohio, and was reportedly fitted with Super Cobra Jet cylinder heads, a Crane hydraulic roller camshaft, MSD ignition, and a Scat crankshaft. The valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, and thermostat were replaced in December 2020, and an oil change was performed in April 2023.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission reportedly equipped with a Lakewood bell housing, aluminum flywheel, and Centerforce performance clutch.

A spare set of wheels is included in the sale along with a black soft top, side curtains, engine build sheets, an owner’s guide, and a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin.
