Making the Impossible, Possible
Cornell Concrete Canoe is an undergraduate engineering project team with the goal of designing, building, and racing a canoe made of concrete each year! We compete against other Concrete Canoe teams in the annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Upstate New York Conference. Our results prove our dedication: we have placed third in three of the last four competitions!
About the Competition
The ASCE Concrete Canoe competition is a three-day event that tests every aspect of our canoe. On Day 1, we present our canoe to an expert panel of judges who critique our finished product and design report. On Day 2, our team leads give a 15-minute presentation on the design and construction process of our canoe, followed by questions from the judges. On Day 3, we take our canoe to a nearby lake for head-to-head endurance and speed races against other teams!
Why Your Donation Matters
By working to build the best concrete canoe, our project team helps its members hone their technical and leadership skills. As we continue to improve our design and construction process, we also want to improve ourselves so that we are better prepared to be future leaders of the engineering world.
A donation to Concrete Canoe will help us in building the best possible canoe while furthering our engineering education. We hope that this campaign will help us with material costs, competition costs, and lab space upgrades. Donated funds will be used to purchase concrete mix materials, cover transportation and lodging fees for competition, and bring in a hydration system and concrete mixer that is essential for our construction process. These items are crucial for us to build a great canoe, and your donation will help bring us one step closer to that goal.

A donation of $10 allows us to purchase the necessary masks and gloves that our mold and mix members use when working in the laboratory.
A donation of $25 allows us to purchase graduated cylinders, concrete mixing containers, sanders, wooden mold materials, and other supplies that help us in our construction process.
A donation of $50 allows us to buy materials such as aggregates and poravers that our mix team utilizes to create newer, lighter, and stronger concrete mixtures.
A donation of $100 pays for lodging and transportation fees for one team member to attend competition.
A donation of $250 helps us buy new advanced equipment, such as a hydration system, new molds, or a concrete mixer.
A donation of $500 helps Cornell Concrete Canoe to continue to thrive as a student engineering project team!
