MADISON, N.J. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its postseason men's soccer awards on Wednesday, and Drew University's Aidan Cserhat (Taos, N.M.) was named ECAC Rookie of the Year.  Head Coach Lenny Armuth, meanwhile, was recognized as ECAC Coach of the Year.

This is the first ECAC Coach of the Year award for Armuth, who has previously received both Regional and National Coach of the Year honors.  The 2017 Landmark Conference Coach of the Year, he guided Drew to a 21-1-1 season that included a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.  The Rangers won their second Landmark Conference title and qualified for their first NCAA Tournament since 2008.  The Sweet Sixteen appearance was just the third in program history, and the first since 2003.

Drew tied a program record for victories and ranked second nationally in winning percentage (.935).  The Rangers won 18 consecutive games from Sept. 10-Nov. 18, when they suffered their only loss of the season against Brandeis in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Cserhat, who also earned a place on the All-ECAC First Team, scored 20 goals during his initial campaign with the Rangers.  He's currently fifth nationally in goals and seventh in points (45).  Aidan had a nine-game goal-scoring streak from Sept. 10-Oct. 7 and scored four game-winners.

He was selected Landmark Conference Tournament MVP after notching the first two goals in the Rangers' 3-1 victory over Elizabethtown.  Aidan was named Landmark Conference Rookie and Offensive Player of the Year, becoming just the second player in conference history to receive both award in the same season.

Niko Cserhat (Taos, N.M.) joined his brother on the All-ECAC First Team.  The Landmark Defensive Player of the Year, Niko was the anchor of a defense that allowed just 15 goals all season.  He started all 23 games and was on the field for nearly 90 percent of the team's minutes played.

In addition, goalkeeper Jason Adamo (Roxbury, N.J.) received an honorable mention All-ECAC nod.  Adamo tallied 21 wins, 11 of which were shutouts, and had a goals against average of 0.59 in 2017.  He also ranked 26th nationally in save percentage, stopping 85.3 percent of shots against him.  Adamo was a First Team All-Landmark selection.
