New Indoor Ski Centre For Colorado

SNÖBAHN has opened a massive new action sports facility at a brand-new 38,000 square feet location in Thornton, Colorado, with four SkiMachines by Alpine Engineering.

The company was founded in 2016 by Sadler Merrill, a Colorado native and former University of Colorado freestyle ski team member who had a dream of create a secure haven for honing tricks and enhancing skills in the mountains sports he cherishes.

Besides the SkiMachines, the facility includes a skate / BMX park with a Big Air jump created by the team behind parks for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and X Games, and a trampoline freestyle area with seven performance trampolines, a jump tower, and a run wall.

“SNÖBAHN is more than just a training center; it’s a vibrant community space that invites people of all ages and abilities to learn about and experience the thrill of action sports in a safe, accessible, and affordable environment,” said Sadler, who continued, “We want to extend a huge thank-you to the City of Thornton, which has been incredibly supportive of our expansion here. We can’t wait for communities here in North Denver to experience everything SNÖBAHN has to offer.” 

The first SNÖBAHN was established in Centennial and Merrill expects his two facilities will together train 14,000 skiers and snowboarders annually across both locations, with a remarkable 98% conversion rate into lifelong winter sports participants.

SNÖBAHN also serves as a year-round training facility for alpine race athletes competing for Denver University, Team Summit, Loveland, Team Breck, Winter Park freestyle comp team, and more.
