I would like a catalogue of games that run better on linux than on windows just to see how many there are. We also might be able to figure out some common things that make games run better on linux and worse on windows.
Please show performance comparisons of the game running on linux vs windows. Include the distro, your hardware specs, and any environment variables, startup options, and modifications you made to increase performance. Alternatively you can post videos you have found that compare linux vs windows performance.
I’ll start with cyberpunk 2077. This video isn’t mine but I found that I got a similar performance uplift when switching to garuda. This person tested Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.0 on nobara.
my configuration i use for cyberpunk 2077 is as follows:
installed GOG version with heroic games launcher (lutris didn’t work)
proton GE custom
Esync and Fsync enabled
feral gamemode enabled
Enviornment variables:
RADV_PERFTEST=aco (this enables valves experimental RADV shader compiler for MESA drivers)
Startup Options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=amd_ags_x64=b (fixes an issue with mango hud not reporting vram correctly)
