We can always rely on Selena Gomez for a healthy dose of perspective, and the singer-actress provided just that recently on her Instagram story.

The 31-year-old Only Murders in the Building star shared a body-positive boost with a few swimsuit photos of herself on Monday evening. Gomez wrote “Today, I realized I will never look like this again....” across a pic of herself in a string black-and-white animal print bikini.

In the next, she was photographed from behind in a white strapless swim top and black bottoms as she emerged from a body of water onto the back of a boat. “I’m not perfect but I am proud to be who I am.. sometimes I forget it’s ok to be me,” she noted.

Gomez has been in the spotlight since she was a child, and her career as a singer and actress has unfortunately opened her up to unsolicited public scrutiny about everything from her body to her love life. Last February, she spoke out about how her diagnosis with the autoimmune disease lupus has caused her body to fluctuate in recent years. At the same time, she also issued an inspiring message on beauty.

“I just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they’re going through and nobody knows the real story,” Gomez stated. “I just want people to know that you’re beautiful and you’re wonderful, and yeah, maybe we have days where we feel like s---, but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself.”
