As a park I used to come here all the time years ago when I lived within walking distance. I practically grew up here and remember when it used to be a roller-blading/ice skating rink. They've since then cleared all that out and created a green and flowery oasis with pleasant concrete walkways that compliment the scenery of yachts, passenger ships and of course the Hudson River (avoid the bodies! Lol, I kid, I kid).
I'm reviewing this as purely what it became for the past two weekends. An outdoor music venue. I came here Saturday night for Converse City Carnage featuring The Kills, Black Bananas and Viva Viva.
As a venue it was pretty great! The sound was crystal clear, it felt kind of intimate, the weather was perfect. But seriously, can they not afford to find better security? There is a women on their security team (probably doesn't have anything to do with the Hudson River folks or Chelsea Piers for that matter...) but this woman was so incredibly bitter and I was quite happy-go-lucky when she accused me of yelling at her. She'd better hope I never see her again or I may go hulk smash on her.
Looking forward to enjoying the greenery this park has, but this one security guard really marred my recent experience here - and I never really let someone affect me as much, but sometimes it only takes that one awful person...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1721091052Jul 27, 2016

Came here for a run on Saturday morning because the weather was warm and beautiful! There were so many people biking, walking and running. I loved that there were public restrooms, restaurants and spots along the way. There was also a portion by 14th street that had a field with grass for exercising, tanning or just to relax. I stopped there to exercise a bit. It was great! Can't wait to return!

Beautiful place for either sunbathing/lounging or catching an outdoor film. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, catch up with friends on the sprawling lawn. Watching the sunset while waiting for the film to start, sharing food, drinks and conversation--definitely ranks with the best of NY in the summer.
Haven't been to a concert there yet, but that'd be next on my list.
BTW, if you're going for a film, get there at least an hour before the start time because it gets p-a-c-k-e-d. And you're going in a group, it's a better idea to meet at a street corner and walk over to the pier together because locating your friends in a sea of people is no easy task. We saw a lot of people having trouble finding each other.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Linda P.Manhattan, NY1253607Apr 29, 2013
SO glad it's spring! This is seriously a hidden gem of the city. Beautiful green "knoll" as my roommates and I call it. It perfect for lounging in the sun by the hudson river. It's nice and cool as there is usualyl a breeze coming from the river. You get a great view of the skyline so you know you're in NYC, but at the same time you are hidden away from the crazy streets. Bring some food, drink, blankets and friends and camp out here all day. You will definitely find me here all summer!

Came here for the Wanderlust Yoga event and this place is great. I love Hudson River because it's clean and you get civilized people. Come here if you want to get away from the crazy car noise and mean pedestrians. I think tanning and jogging here is great. I feel motivated to do it myself when I come here.
