Famed Comedian Dawn French has been a staple on British television for the past 40 years, first with her comedy partner Jennifer Saunders and then in The Vicar Of Dibley.
French was born in Holyhead in Wales in 1957 and currently lives in Fowey in Cornwall.
The 60-year-old began her career on the alternative comedy scene and gained notoriety for her part on The Comic Strip with Saunders.
This year the comedy duo have come back together for a Christmas Special on the BBC which will air on Christmas day at 10:35pm.
As one of the most iconic female comedians in Britain and the world Dawn French has amassed quite a fortune to match.
She has an estimated net worth of £7.4million, accumulated form her book sales, comedy acting roles, appearances in films and brand endorsements such as Terry’s Chocolate Orange and Churchill Insurance.
French was married to fellow comedian Sir Lenny Henry for 25 years and the couple adopted a daughter together, Billie, who is now 26-years-old.
The couple divorced in 2010 and French remarried charity boss Mark Bignell in 2013.
She is now a step-mother to his children, Lily aged 27 and Olly aged 24.
French has had a stellar television career over the past 30 years. She co-wrote and starred in French and Saunders’ comedy series in 1987, where the duo parodied Madonna, Cher, Catherine Zeta-Jones and the Spice Girls.
The duo were on TV together for 20 years and afterwards French went on to play her most iconic role as Geraldine Granger in The Vicar Of Dibley.
The show was created for French by Richard Curtis.
She was also on the judging panel of Australia’s Got Talent.
