Granger Smith’s wife Amber shows ‘cruel’ DMs shaming her over son River’s death

Amber Smith is still receiving “cruel” messages from Instagram trolls three years after son River’s death.

The actress, 40, posted a screenshot via Instagram Stories on Monday showing one of her followers asking how her late 3-year-old drowned in June 2019.

“Why was he not being properly protected and supervised?” the social media user wrote. “Not my business, not trying to be cruel.”

The hater went on to reference Amber and Granger Smith’s 10-month-old son, Maverick, writing, “To have a beautiful baby drown and then just have another kid like, oops sorry about that one we’ll just have another and replace him. How do you guys … move on?”

The lengthy message continued to slam the couple for River’s “100 percent preventable” death, calling their rainbow baby’s arrival in August 2021 “disrespectful.”

Amber sarcastically told her followers, “Not her business and she’s not judging or trying to be cruel though. The Lord is my strength when we still, three years later, receive these messages.”

After sharing verses that have helped the Texas native, she posted throwback photos with River — as well as another hateful message.

“Why would you be such irresponsible parents?!” the comment read. “This is your fault, you KILLED your win [sic] kid. Truly disgusting.”

Amber wrote via Stories that she “can’t fault these people,” writing, “It’s taken me three years not to let these comments hurt me, but I forgive them. I am rooted in Jesus.”

Since River’s passing, she and the country singer, 42, have been transparent about their grieving process.

Amber even told the “Meaning Full Living” podcast co-hosts earlier this month how she and the songwriter told their eldest children about their brother’s death.

“We went home [from the hospital] with that intention of being very honest,” she explained on June 20 of daughter London, 10, and son Lincoln, 8. “We … told them that whatever they’re feeling … it’s OK.”
