Sold: Friendship MkIII very nice and comfortable cruiser sailboat with good sailing capabilities
Excellent Friendship 28, robust cruiser sailboat with good sailing characteristics. The cast iron keel with 1500 kg ballast guarantees good stability. The popular Mk3 model is from the last Friendship series with the round windows, which were renewed in 2011. Both the halyards and the sheets can be operated from the cockpit. Mainsail and genoa are from M-sails (new 2013) and are neatly covered with blue mainsail – and genoa cover. Reefing of the furling genoa and the mainsail is all done from the sheltered cockpit. The traveler in front of the companionway provides further trim options for the mainsail. The wooden laminated tiller with extention was renewed in 2006. Cockpit benches and floor are fitted with teak. This Friendship has been on the hard every 2 years, the underwater hull is painted with 3 layers of VC Tar2 and 3 layers of VC 17m anti-fouling. The entire ship is in a very well kept state of maintenance. The documentation is complete, including invoices, original yard cert. and VAT customs declaration.
At the cabin entrance on the starboard side there is a well-equipped galley, incl. top loading (12V / 220V) cooler, Origo 2-burner stove and sink with running water. Behind the galley is an open aft cabin with double berth. The Volvo Penta 2002 18hp diesel engine is a reliable power source for propulsion. The engine is located behind the cabin stairs, of which the steps have been renewed by a ships carpenter. On the port side is a chart table with switch panel, VHF radio and radio / CD player. Port aft side is a Heads with (new) handpump toilet, sink and cabinet nicely fitted with mirrors. The saloon offers comfortable seating for at least 6 people. with a wooden folding table in the middle. The seating on port – and starboard side also function as extra sleeping berths. A further 2 people can sleep on the V-bed in the private front cabin. The cabins are equipped with sturdy cushions and atmospheric dome lighting.
