Shindand
The wreckage of numerous vehicles and aircraft in the “bone yard” on Shindand Air Base in the Herat Province are the remnants of once operable Soviet supported Afghan air force and a stark reminder of the consequences of developing a military without the skills and training to maintain logistical and structural systems.
