Lal Kitab is a treatise on Samudrika Shashtra. This is an effort to present the astrological elements contained in Lal Kitab in a systematic manner so as to make it more meaningful. However, the matter still lacks continuity and needs to be read from beginning to end like a descriptive novel time and again, so that the contents may be revealed automatically. It would be better to experiment with the elements of Lal Kitab before forming a personal opinion about the knowledge contained in the book. This would help understand the subject clearly. Exploration and formation of personal opinion is foundation of progress. But self-created suppositions without mastering Lal Kitab fundamentals would create complications in the way of understanding the subject. Therefore, first experiment with Lal Kitab dedicatedly before forming personal opinion. If the reader is not well versed with construction and rectification of the birth chart, he should primarily delve with the birth chart that has been caste according to the tenets of Hindu or Vedic astrology and then experiment. However, Lal Kitab ordains that one should not deal with his own horoscope or hand because it would create a great hurdle in learning the subject, because it would create more interest in the self than in the subject. The subject may enable a person to seek day of demise, secrets or satanic characteristics of a person. It may also enable him to know what is the gender of pregnancy, but to lay these facts bare to all may promote satanic tendencies and sinful attitude in the society; and the person is liable to suffer and pay the price through disease and suffering. Astrology is a sacred science and a mathematical system that aims at bringing about peace and balance in the society. It is neither magic nor a weapon of attack on others. It is an effort to remove obstacles from the path of life through simple measures so that an individual may take advantage of his luck and reach his destiny smoothly. For a long time, I was getting a customer feedback to rewrite my thesis on Lal kitab to give it a shape of a ready reckner or a practical manual to be consulted without the help of a trained astrologer. Praparation of such self help manual on Lal kitab was a real challenge, however, almighty has allowed me to attempt. The reader should go through the book vigilantly. If he or she finds some faults and pitfalls those should point them out to the publishers and the author for rectification. Such a person would be the best friend of science and the society. This act of kindness shall be gratefully acknowledged individually and mentioned in the acknowledgement in subsequent edition. To seek knowledge, truth and reality is one’s Natural Right but to criticize others or make fun of any one is unethical and sinful. Gentlemanliness warrants that one should endeavour to benefit from the acquired knowledge and serve the humanity.

RS Chillar was born in 1930, in a small village of erstwhile Punjab province, India. He held a post-graduate degree in Ancient Indian History and Culture from Kashi Vidya Peeth, Varanasi. He was an educationist by profession. He had 34 years’ experience as an officer in the field of education, which provided him lavish opportunities for interaction with the teachers with varied interests, especially in the field of astrology. He is the disciple of Late Shri Manik Chand Jain, the modern Aryabhat and Late Pt. Dina Nath Ji, Nakshatra Samrat and freedom fighter of India. His articles in ‘Occult India’ and ‘Mystique India’ are well received. The author has been profusely awarded for his lectures on astrology in several national astrological conferences, especially organized by Bharat Nirman® and All India Saraswati Jyotish Manch®. The International Biographical Centre, London also approved his credentials, for the award of International Man of the year-1997. He has a cult following in the field of predictive astrology and mystic rituals to mitigate the effects of various planets and their combinations (Yoga).

Dr. Mitra basu chillar completed M.B.B.S. and M.D. in Medicine from Pt.BDS PGIMS, Rohtak, India. After the completion of his senior residency in the department of Medicine and cardiology, he works with the Government of India as a Medical Scientist.

A trained gold commander in strategic management of CBRN attacks from the prestigious National Police CBRN centre, Ryton, UK, and a green belt in six sigma, Dr. Mitrabasu completed his MBA in health care administration from the faculty of management sciences, Delhi University, Delhi.

He is also a Professor at the prestigious Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (Deemed University), Pune. He was instrumental in establishing one of the earliest telemedicine link between Bangalore and Rohtak, India and received technology group award. A frequent expert panelist for prestigious healthy India programme of Lok Sabha TV Channel, He has presented many papers in various national and international conferences and a number of publications in various indexed medical journals.

A social worker, supporting poor patients, not able to afford their treatment, he has sponsored medical treatment of more than 500 patients as on now through his NGO, Bhagwati Society for Child and Women Welfare (R) .

A voracious learner in traditional systems of Astrology, Occult sciences and Tantra, he has authored many books on the subject

Great Book this book is beyond well written and very in-depth . It had to of taken years to write.
But as the saying goes , all good things come to those who wait and the finished product far exceeded my expiations of a book .
A must have book on Lal Kitab for beginners absolutely ! you should always start with the best as a 25 year astrology hobbyist this will be the only book you ever need .
A great book for us hobbyist astrologers branching out into Lal Kitab.
This book is not some light weight book as stated above it is very in-depth and well worth the money .
I would also like to state this books English is superb also .

Pros=explained the casting of the lal kitab birth chart. There are tables for casting the annual chart at the very end-not well integrated. Explains the rudimentaries of approach to interpreting the chart and the logic behind some of the remedies. Reasonable interpretation of planets in houses and conjunctions.
Cons-BAD proof reading. SHAME on you, Kindle. Many sentences are unintelligible. Entire paragraphs are senselessly duplicated. Incomplete work. Palmistry excluded. No example charts to speak of. For an Indian reader, grossly overpriced. There is a paperback on the same subject by Mr Raj Chillar available at 1/10th the Amazon price at Saptarshis astrology bookshop online.
