I made the Subida Ground Dark Roast in my Mr. Coffee Combo Brewer. I found that I needed to add about 6 tablespoons for a 4 cup pot, which is a little more than the 5 I usually use. I also got the whole bean version for my husband who likes to grind his own beans, and he prepared it as usual.
This coffee is very smooth. There's a touch of bitterness but not too much. The flavor is not bold. It's definitely mild but I wouldn't call it weak. My husband likes it black. But, I add some milk and stevia, and I found that I needed a bit less sweetener for this coffee.
The bag isn't resealable but it comes with a metal clip. I still transferred it into a different air and light proof container though.
I appreciate that this brand is single origin and supports education in Honduras. It's nice for a morning blend. It's not on my favorites list since I prefer stronger coffees, but it's worth a try.

THE MOSES PROJECT
The Moses Project, a 120-acre commercial farm and agriculture training center in a small community outside of Santa Rosa de Copán. At any given time, this facility houses an average of 40 boys above the age of 13. These young men learn best practices in the technical and economic aspects of agriculture, specifically in coffee, fish, and poultry. Most of these young men would not have continued their education due to lack of finances or facilities. Now, through the Moses Project, they are studying and are on their way to completing their high school education. Along with helping them complete their formal education, they take part in an agricultural education focused on tilapia, chickens, greenhouse vegetables, bee-keeping, and coffee. The goal is to equip them with all they need to lift themselves, their families, and their communities out of poverty. Smells great in the bag, but...
When it comes to my coffee, I LOVE a dark roast with a very bold and rich flavor. This coffee comes in a nice packaging and includes a cool metal clip to seal it back up between uses. When I first broke the seal, the aroma was great. The beans, themselves, looked nice and fresh. I used my hand grinder, set to produce a medium grind and after grinding noticed there didn't seem to be as much aroma. I added the fresh grounds to my drip coffee maker and started brewing. With my normal dark roast, I start smelling the coffee aroma shortly after the brewing begins. With this coffee, I never really smelled any aroma, even after the brewing was completed. The freshly brewed coffee in the carafe looked a little lighter in color than what I'm used to and also didn't really have much aroma. The flavor is very subtle (almost watered down). I found this a bit strange, considering I used almost twice the amount of grounds I normally use. I really didn't notice the "brown sugar" or "black cherry" notes that are listed on the packaging. This coffee does seem to have a bit of a "caffeine kick", though.While I do appreciate the concept and the cause(s) they support, I don't think I would buy this coffee again. To me, the coffee I normally drink is less than half the cost per ounce if this coffee, and has twice the flavor. I will most likely just mix the remainder if this coffee in with my regular coffee to try and take advantage of that extra caffeine kick.

This review is for SUBIDA COFFEE Dark Roast Ground Coffee | Arabica Single Origin farmed from Honduras | Notes of Brown Sugar and Black Cherry | Supports Agriscience Education (12oz bag). I prefer medium roast so I normally don’t drink dark roast coffee but this one is just smooth and wonderful! It doesn’t taste or smell like burnt coffee like so many do out of my French press. I was pleasantly surprised by that. I enjoy it more without milk than with it, unlike medium roast. I wish I had gotten whole beans instead of already grounded so that I could do it myself, but it is still very flavorful and so aromatic. I like that they provided a metal clip to keep the coffee bag nicely sealed. Overall, wonderful single origin ground arabica coffee with a great cause. I’d give it a 5.0/5.0 - 05/08/2023.

Upon opening this bag of coffee, I smelled it as I like to smell freshly ground or freshly opened coffee containers. This bag didn't smell as good as my regular store bought (not fancy) ground coffee.
When the coffee was made, it tasted OK. but not great, just OK.
It's fairly prominently displayed about how this coffee supports some charity which is simply to motivate people to buy this item.
This coffee is expensive, I'd rather buy regular coffee at half the price and then donate my money to this or other charities that have higher ratings for financial management.

My husband and I grind beans fresh every morning for our coffee and we were really looking forward to trying the Subida Whole Bean Dark Roast Coffee. True to its name it is a dark, rich, flavorful coffee. I’m not sure I can isolate the cherry and brown sugar flavors, but it doesn’t matter to me…it is simply delicious. We buy only the best coffee, one of our splurges, and this Subida coffee is among the best we’ve tried. It came tightly sealed with an included clip to keep it fresh after opening. It is on the higher side in price, but 100% of the cost goes to the nonprofit, which has an extremely inspirational story and mission statement. Don’t hesitate to try this brand.
