We have been impressed with the lifespan of the solar panels on our Tactacam Cameras. We were going through 12 AA batteries every 90 days of camera use. Our 1st solar panel has been installed for 9 months without issue. This panel paid for itself within the first 6 months of use. Without the risk of dead Batteries, our time is better spent. I have 3 Tacticam Cell cameras and now use this solar panel on all 3. As long as you point the panel South to get the most sun light from SE to SW during the hunting season, they pretty much stay between 90-100%.

Read the instructions and do not put batteries in the camera like I did. If you put batteries in the camera, it will not recognize the solar panel.

Wish they were cheaper, but you get what you pay for and these have worked great for me.

I'm using one of these solar panels with each of my four Reveal X Gen 2.0 cameras and they make all the difference. They keep my cameras at 100% battery life all the time. I had a camera out there for more than year last season (until the card filled up); no issues. NOTE: The solar panel IS a battery. It doesn't (re)charge the batteries in your camera. When your regular batteries drain to zero, the solar panel battery takes over.

I appreciate the long cord that comes with the unit, but I find it to be more of a small hassle than a help, honestly, having to coil up all the extra and stow it somehow to keep dangling, blowing the wind, getting in the way, etc. I've never had to mount the solar panel so far away from the camera itself. This is constructive criticism more than a complaint. "Too long" is better than "too short".

However, I do hate the panel mount. It seems like it would be easy to use, but it isn't. It's very fiddly and noisy to set up. It works fine once you get it in place, but when I can, I use a "HME Economy Trail Camera Holder" instead. WAY better (I just wish they were $6 instead of $12+).

All-in-all... this is a 5 star must-have in my opinion. It pays for itself quickly, saving money on buying batteries and perhaps even better, saving you the time and effort of having to replace dead batteries.

Cameras have been in the field for now 9 months since I bought these solar panels. This panel coupled with the lithium battery pack I have not had the battery life go under 100% since I added the panels. Just the lithium battery pack I had to go out once a month to change batteries and my cameras are an hour away from me. These solar panels will charge the lithium battery pack, not sure about using the aa battery pack with rechargeable aa batteries.

Also the panels have been out there in some crazy storms, snow, rain, wind, and have weathered it all. I will not run any of my cameras without this exact panel anymore.

Also look at tactacams ground stake, best camera stake on the market.
