Celebrating invention and authenticity, the AR presents a snapshot of work in progress from around the world

Likened to a child’s set of building blocks, this project designed for a set of pavilions and follies in the Parc des Bords de Seine is based on a modular system of timber frame construction.

Set in a 113ha park bordering the River Seine, close the famous Villa Savoye by Le Corbusier, the design is said to ‘spring from a process of hybridisation between two existing habitat models: the floating barge and the archetypical suburban house’. The brief included the provision of a visitor’s centre, a restaurant, an observatory plus about 12 smaller follies for public/infrastructural use.
