REIN WOLFS

Rein Wolfs, born 1960 in Hoorn (Netherlands), has been the Director of the Bundeskunsthalle (Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany) in Bonn since 2013.
His prior engagements included Directorship of the Kunsthalle Fridericianum in Kassel (2008-2012), Exhibition Director of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam (2001-2007) as well as founding Director of the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich (1996-2001). In 2003 he curated the Dutch pavilion at the Venice Biennial.
Rein Wolfs has been responsible for numerous exhibitions at the Bundeskunsthalle, including retrospectives about the works of Kasimir Malevich, Hanne Darboven and Katharina Sieverding, large-scale presentations on John Bock and Gregor Schneider, a major retrospective of Karl Lagerfeld’s fashion design as well as the first show about Pina Bausch and the Tanztheater. Furthermore, Wolfs is responsible for a program of contemporary art, including exhibitions with Petrit Halilaj, Alexandra Domanović, Vajiko Chachkiani and others.
