Following the airing of “TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons,” he posted to Facebook writing, “Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and love! Love, Richard. The post was also contained a happy face emoji holding up a sign reading “Thank you!”

Simmons had not posted or address supporters for years, according to ET Online.

The Facebook post was not the only messaging from the Simmons camp this week. The New York Post received a statement from his representative Tom Estey with more about Simmons current status.

“Richard is eternally grateful for the continuous outpouring of love and gratitude he has received from across the Globe. He is happy, healthy and living the life he has chosen to live.”

Estey also told the publication Simmons posted the Facebook message himself.

According to People, Simmons has not been seen in public since he stopped teaching at his workout studio in February of 2014. The disappearance has spurred many thoughts and claims as to why, leading to the podcast “Missing Richard Simmons” and the TMZ/FOX documentary.
