Overview

Known as "The Borough of Parks," Staten Island has been home to many families that were looking from a more quiet and serene way of life. With its diversified cultures and its vast amounts of arts and entertainment, this is what so many people found attractive. The borough is separated from New Jersey by the Arthur Kill and the Kill Van Kull, and from the rest of New York by New York Bay. Here are some old time places in Staten Island, I am sure you never heard of, Skunk's Misery, Haunted Swamp, Gun Factory Road, Indian Hill, London Bridge, Owl's Hollow, Pig Alley and Burial Ridge. in this book there are 100 pages of Old Staten Island names from 1900.
