This book is about my childhood in Sylhet which was then part of Assam, a province of undivided India. Sylhet is now part of Bangladesh. It also describes my growing up while moving from one place to another in Assam and later, as a young adult, my life in Kolkata and abroad, which included training in Agricultural Science in Germany and obtaining my Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Nutritional Science in England. A lot of my memories are about my family, who managed to struggle through the tumultuous times of India's Partition.
