The tomb of the Bernini Family is located in the right lateral nave. A simple inscription in Latin expresses hope for the resurrection of Peter and Gian Lorenzo, whose workshops were located directly behind the Pauline Chapel.
The relief of the Assumption in the Baptistry, the sculptures in the Pauline Chapel (both works of Pietro), and the bronze figure depicting Philip IV, below the portico (designed by Gian Lorenzo), reflect the artistic activity of the Bernini family at Saint Mary Major.
