The Jordaan

The Jordaan is not only a real people’s neighborhood, but also the soul of Amsterdam. This is where the world renowned 17th century painter Rembrandt van Rijn spent the last days of his life but also where you find the Anne Frank House. Once a real workers quarter, the Jordaan has transformed into one of the hippest and most expensive neighborhoods of Amsterdam.

Dutch gezelligheid

In the Jordaan you’ll not only find countless restaurants, art galleries and stately buildings from earlier times but also the real Dutch conviviality known as ‘gezelligheid’. A word that is not easily translated and best experienced in the jovial brown cafes, narrow streets and hidden courtyards of the Jordaan.
