Tiputini Station in Ecuador

This new building replaces a 12 year-old 1,000 square foot wooden structure that, over the years, had largely been consumed by termites.

This new, ca. 3,000 square foot, two-story building is being constructed from materials resistant to termite damage (steel, concrete, glass, tile and fiberglass)

This building, along with several other new cabins for scientists, a new pickup truck, and a satellite link to the Internet, were funded by a NSF Facilities Improvement Grant, with additional funds from BU and the Universidad San Francisco (USFQ).
