What you’re looking at here is an ultra-rare left hand drive Gemballa Avalanche, based on the iconic Porsche 930 of the 1980s.

The car will get auctioned off through Coys in London, featuring a Pearlescent White exterior and black leather interior. According to the listing, this Avalanche was sold new to a dealer in Puerto Rico back in 1986 and by 1989, it was reportedly already worth some $700,000.

This is believed to be one of just 15 examples ever made, as well as one of the last units built with RUF’s involvement. The latter provided the Avalanche with its 375 HP turbocharged engine, as well as a RUF-developed ‘dog-leg’ 5-speed manual gearbox.

The classic model only has 14,000 miles (22,500 km) on the clock and comes fitted with a wide range of custom parts, such as the dual-exhaust system, chrome 17-inch HRE Performance wheels, chrome strut brace, pop-up headlights, electric sunroof, sports seats, white dials and more. The wide-body kit also boasts side strakes, not unlike those on a Ferrari Testarossa.

You also get air conditioning, an Alpine CD head unit with amplifier, plus a Cobra alarm system, in case you’re worried someone’s going to steal your German exotic, which to be fair, has been known to happen.

While it’s hard to say how much this 1986 Gemballa Avalanche is worth right now, the same car did find itself on the auction block back in 2017, when it was said to be worth between £145,000 ($180,000) and £180,000 ($222,000).
