Using a car equipped with innovative camera technology, the Google Street View team takes thousands of images and turns them into stunning 360-degree panoramas. Every once in a while, however, jokesters have been able to track down the Street View car and stage funny scenes that end up on Google's 3D maps. From fake murders to buck-naked suburbanites, here's Crown Toyota's list of the five best Google Street View pranks ever!

Don't worry. This isn't an actual murder scene. The image was taken when a Scottish mechanic quickly grabbed a friend to help him coordinate the prank after seeing Google's car around the corner. The owner of the auto shop, Dan Thompson, explained to CNN:  "By chance, I saw the Street View car going in other leg. I knew it would reach us in half a minute. I had just enough time to whip in, grab Gary and a pick-ax handle and he came out to give me a so called 'Leith massage,' which is essentially being bashed."

Why this guy is lounging in his trunk naked, we don't know - and quite honestly don't want to know. All we can say is reality ain't always pretty.

Google and Facebook have always had a bit of a rivalry and we think this image, staged by Facebook employees, was a funny way for the social site to stick it to the world's most used search engine. The 42-foot QR code above was painted on the roof of Facebook's headquarters in Silicon Valley.

One summer, two Norwegian men in the city of Bergen received a tip that the Google Maps Street View car would be in town. On the day the roving car crossed their path, the two were dressed in scuba diving outfits and had pitchforks in hand. There are also other photos of them chasing the car down.

Our fifth and final image gives new meaning to the term photo bombing. When Daily Portal Z, a Japanese humor website, got word that Google Street View would be headed to Tokyo, they decided to turn themselves into human pigeons for a surprise photo op. The site's writers hung out near Mitaka Station carrying their masks and were able to stage this well-choreographed shot when the car rolled around.
