An Evening with Alex Landau — The Communication and Society Residential Academic Programs presents An Evening with Alex Landau. Alex Landau is a Denver native who received a $795,000 settlement from the Denver Police Department (one of the largest settlements in Denver history) after surviving a severe beating at the hands of three Denver police officers after a routine traffic stop in 2009. In 2016, he won an Emmy award for an animated short (“Traffic Stop”) that he created with the StoryCorps animation team based on his experience.
