Old MySpace photos of the Married At First Sight contestants have resurfaced. 

And the stars were more emo than emotional, long before finding fame on the social experiment and breaking down over their troubled 'marriages'. 

From thick eyeliner and dyed hair, back then you'd more likely find them at a My Chemical Romance gig singing Welcome To The Black Parade, than on TV.

Josh Pihlak looked like he once knew his way around a pair of hair straighteners. 

The truck driver, 28, previously sported a choppy bleached blond side fringe, which he grew during his time fronting a band with a family member. 

Natasha Spencer, 26, is another contestant who went through an edgy rock phase. 

In one unearthed photograph, the beauty is barely recognisable with sweeping black bangs, heavy eyeliner and a piercing stare.

Amanda Micallef, 34, looked like a different woman during the days of MySpace. 

The Melbourne-based strength coach once sported a very vibrant red bob haircut, as she spent her time strumming on a guitar rather than hitting the gym.   

Meanwhile, Vanessa Romito, 31, pioneered the 'selfie' years before the term was coined.  

Her MySpace profile is packed full of photographs of herself with a variety of hairstyles and dramatic makeup looks. 

In one picture, the pharmacy manager styled a skull and cross bone dress with a pair of red thigh-high boots while seductively posing as she climbed out of a car.

Elizabeth Sobinoff, 28, hasn't changed much since her younger days, and that is evident in a photograph from five years ago which she shared to Instagram this week. 

Meanwhile, Cathy Evans, 26, may not have fallen into the emo scene, but just like her 'husband' Josh she is familiar with a bottle of hair dye, previously sporting bleached blonde hair. 

Michael Goonan, 28, doesn't look like he's changed much over the years.

The controversial groom, who caused a scene at Wednesday's dinner party, looked to be the centre of attention back when he was a teenager in Queensland.
