Schloss Bückeburg Castle

Short facts

  • Bückeburg

Renaissanceschloss mit historischen Sälen und Räumen aus vier Jahrhunderten.

Bückeburg Castle has been in the family of the Counts of Holstein-Schaumburg and later Princes of Schaumburg-Lippe for over 700 years.
The large ballroom with its pink ornate decorations is impressive; the lavishly decorated castle chapel and the golden hall contain masterpieces of the art of carving.

Located at the city center of Bückeburg, the castle is an attractive point of attraction far beyond the region. It is surrounded by extensive gardens and parks on the order of more than 80 hectares.

A private park surrounds the largest private mausoleum in the world. The splendor of color of the mosaics and a gleaming gold-plated dome are impressive here. The path through the castle park leads past the “Parkcafe” excursion destination.

The Princely Riding School is an important part of the palace complex. The 400 year old stables are accommodation for noble stallions of baroque breeds; In the historic riding arena, visitors experience first-class riding skills from various eras.

At the Christmas magic and country party events, exclusive exhibitors transform the park and palace into a particularly atmospheric ambience.

Concerts, exhibitions and conferences round off the event calendar of the castle, and many rooms can also be rented for private events such as celebrations or conferences.

Weddings are possible in the atmospheric ambience of the baroque music hall, and the unique palace chapel can be used by bridal couples of all Christian denominations for church weddings. The cafe / restaurant "Alte Schlossküche" and a large museum shop invite you to dine and look.

The castle can only be visited as part of a guided tour; the entrance fee includes an individual tour of the Princely Riding School.
