I got mine used for $70 and for that price they are fantastic- as much ground-shaking bass from the subwoofer as I want and decent sound separation and quality from the sticks. I used my computer's equalizer to optimize the sound to my liking. My girlfriend and I love the unusual appearance, they look "cool"

I'm a professional audio engineer. I wouldn't mix on these but this is a great sounding system with plenty of volume. The vertical sweet spot is extremely small, but the speaker's bases allow them to be tilted to adjust the aim. All-in all, a good buy.

I have two sets of these speakers. They are the best stereo speakers I've ever had. They are well made and they have full rich sound. They are capable of filling any room with sound. My music collection is now digital and these speakers have replaced my stereo system and big speakers from the 1980's.

I used these with my G4 PowerMac and they matched perfectly and sounded awesome. I since upgraded to a G5 Mac Pro and thought it was time to upgrade to the Bose Companion 5 series. I can say that the Soundsticks have a better low end than the Bose, but the satelites of the Bose sound better than the HK's. These soundsticks were quite expensive when they first came out, but have since become very affordale. They sound great compared to any others in this price range and they do look unique. I was constantly getting kudos from anyone who saw them and heard them.
I was skeptical when I pulled them out of the box. They were smaller than I thought they would be. BUT, when I hooked them up I could not believe the sound. They sound great. The base is strong and the sticks are very crisp. I still have not ventured to turn them up all the way. They are surprisingly loud but still clear. The ONLY issue I have is the sub is designed to be on the floor so everytime you want to adjust the bass or turn the power on or off you have to reach down to the floor to do it. Not a big hassle, just a little inconvenient. I had read reviews about some issues with the volume control on the sticks being to sensitive. I think it is just fine. I have been into stereos for over 30 years and I have owed some outrageous systems. I am one of the guys that is just hard to impress when it comes to speakers. For the price, you cannot go wrong with the Soundsticks. They really out perform anything in their price range. I also think they look really good and clean sitting next to my iMac. If you are looking for a good set of speakers that won't take up half of your computer stand the Soundsticks are by far the most bang for the buck.Read full review
