After a tense year for the Spears family, it would seem that wounds are finally being healed after the publication of Britney’s memoir, The Woman In Me, earlier this year.

After her mother, Lynne, celebrated the Toxic singer’s 42nd birthday with her in Los Angeles this month, it is reported that Britney is planning to return to Louisiana to spend an extended period of time with her family over the festive period.

The mother-daughter duo, who have been estranged in recent years, ’finally healed their wounds' after Lynne reportedly 'apologised' to her daughter instead of trying to 'negate' her feelings upon the release of her tell-all memoir.

'It was the book,' a source told Daily Mail about how their reunion came to fruition. 'Britney was able to get her feelings out and Lynne didn't try to negate those feelings.

'Lynne took ownership and she apologised. This was a huge turning point.

'Britney is now reunited with those who mean the most to her in her family. They have finally healed their wounds and are looking forward to the future with positivity.’

It has been reported that for her birthday celebrations last week, Britney’s manager Cade Hudson organised a small gathering of her favourite people at his house in Los Angeles. Among those who attended the event were Lynne and Britney’s brother, Brian.

'They both were ready for this and Britney wanted this. This was not a surprise on Britney in any way.

'Everyone had a blast and there was lots of dancing and laughing. Most importantly, Britney and Lynne were able to spend some deep and meaningful time together.'
