Funeral services were held at the Newkirk Reformed church at 1:30 p. m. Monday, March 24, for Louis De Haan, 71, of Orange City, who died March 21 at the Orange City hospital.
Services were conducted by the Rev. John Smith and burial was made in the Newkirk cemetery.
Mr. De Haan was born January 10, 1898, at Newkirk.
He was married to Stella Vander Maaten April 10, 1924, at Boyden.
He farmed near Newkirk until retiring and moving into Orange City in 1963.
Survivors include the widow; four sons, John of Clinton, Frank, Henry and Stanley, all of Newkirk: three daughters, Mrs. Robert Schuller of Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. Gerrit Bosmany of Boyden and Mrs. Norman Van Ommeren of Maurice, and 25 grandchildren.
