Response to Joseph Mattera and Michael Brown, Statement on “NAR and Christian Nationalism”

Here is our response to the “NAR and Christian Nationalism” statement released by Joseph Mattera and Michael Brown. We were delayed in completing our response for a few reasons, including some we explain in the document. It is lengthy, but we felt the need to provide a response that is substantive and thoughtful. Holly Pivec and Doug Geivett

Holly Pivec blogs at HollyPivec.com and is co-author with Doug Geivett of four books: Reckless Christianity: The Destructive New Teachings and Practices of Bill Johnson, Bethel Church, and the Global Movement of Apostles and Prophets; Counterfeit Kingdom: The Dangers of New Revelation, New Prophets, and New Age Practices in the Church; A New Apostolic Reformation? A Biblical Response to a Worldwide Movement; and God’s Super-Apostles: Encountering the Worldwide Prophets and Apostles Movement. She has a master’s degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University. Doug has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Southern California, and is professor emeritus of philosophy at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. He has written or edited several books in addition to the four he wrote with Holly, including Faith, Film and Philosophy: Big Ideas on the Big Screen.
