Racquelle "Rahky" Anteola (left), 34 , of Van Nuys, California, and Melissa Dufour, 36, of Miramar, Florida, both are charged with cocaine trafficking.
Hip-hop artist Rahky and athleisure designer Melissa Dufour will confess to federal charges alleging the two were trafficking more than 200 pounds of cocaine.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two women in June after they were pulled over on a reportedly routine traffic stop on Interstate 10. Deputies and Homeland Security agents searched the black SUV they were driving and found 85 bricks of cocaine concealed in various compartments. Officers claimed the drugs were worth more than $2 million at the time.
Two women known online as "Rahky" and "Melimacbarbie" were arrested in Mobile County, Alabama, last Thursday for transporting 217 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $2.1 million.
Attorneys for Racquelle “Rahky” Anteola, 34, of Van Nuys, California, and Dufour, 36, of Miramar, Florida, informed the U.S. District Court in Mobile on Tuesday, Dec. 12, that the defendants intend to plead guilty to the charges, which include possession of drugs with the intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute. Both women pleaded not guilty in July.
The news of their plea came the day before both women were scheduled for a pre-trial conference. Rahky and Dufour have both been held in custody since their arrest. The case has been delayed twice, with federal prosecutors saying the case was “complex.”
Both women will formally plead guilty at a hearing scheduled for Dec. 19. A detailed account of the case is expected to be filed publicly with the court on Dec. 18.
If convicted, Anteola and Dufour face potential penalties of 10 years to life in prison and as much as $10 million in fines.
Rahky is an emerging vocal talent who released an EP hip-hop album in 2022 that rapper Hitmaka produced called “Don’t Take it Personal.” Dufour is the founder of the fitness wear brand Sexy Sweats.
Federal authorities in South Alabama are seeking to charge singer Rahky and another woman with drug trafficking roughly $3 million worth of co…
An indictment alleges both women had been involved in a drug trafficking operation beginning as early as November 2022.
When they were arrested, both women told law enforcement they were en route to Atlanta from Houston, where they had attended a party. The Ford Expedition they were driving had Texas dealer tags and Dufour claimed she had been borrowing it from her boyfriend.
The SUV they were traveling in had a back seat and was modified with a steel aftermarket compartment. The SUV’s floor had also been lowered and welded back together to provide more storage room. The second compartment was located in the back of the SUV, where the side panels were hollowed out.
Before searching the vehicle on the I-10 roadside, someone claiming to be an attorney spoke with the sheriff’s deputy on the scene via Dufour’s cell phone. That individual claimed he will be requesting dash camera footage, as well as training records for the dog. He also collected the names and badge numbers of the officers present.
