Leaf Award Winner – April 2024 Keith Proctor Volunteer and Spiritual Care Services Chaplain Keith is a volunteer in our Spiritual Care Department for the last year. He was recently called to the bedside of a young man in his 40’s whose family was distraught after learning their son had no brain activity. Over the course of the next few days, Chaplain Keith continually sought out the family, providing emotional and spiritual support. He gave this family the gift of his presence during one of the darkest hours of their lives. Chaplain Keith overcame the intense emotions he was also feeling and pushed through to provide excellent spiritual care to them. Chaplain Keith retired from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department in Rancho Cucamonga after serving for 34 years. When he is not at San Antonio, he also serves as a Volunteer Chaplain with the Ontario Police Department. We appreciate his wisdom and calming presence during difficult times. #hereforlife #daisyaward

Daisy Award Winner – April 2024 Jessica Nicolle, RN Ambulatory Care Unit Jessica is a nurse in our ACU, caring for outpatient surgery patients. Her commitment to excellence in nursing is unwavering. She provides exceptional patient care, continually going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of those under her care. She was nominated for the DAISY Award by a recent patient who wrote, “Jessica was an exceptional nurse. I was her last patient of the day and was having a couple of difficult, unexpected issues. Jessica helped me resolve both. I was the only patient left and I knew it was past her time of leaving yet I never felt rushed. She told me she was not concerned about the late hour. She explained that her goal was to avoid having to check me into the hospital and her focus was solely on that goal. I truly believe her compassion enabled me to finally be discharged.” Congratulations, Jessica! #hereforlife #daisyaward

At the @ontarioreignhockey Fan Appreciation night, a player jersey was auctioned off to raise funds for San Antonio Regional Hospital’s Healthy Beginnings program. Nearly $30k was donated to the foundation and we couldn’t appreciate our partnership more!

Local philanthropists and community business people gathered at San Antonio Regional Hospital on April 30th in support of the Ladies Legacy Initiative. Built on a tradition of giving that started with Frances Mary Paul in the early 1920’s, the Ladies Legacy Initiative continues the legacy of compassion and support. Membership in the Ladies Legacy Initiative is open to everyone and proceeds support programs and services at San Antonio Regional Hospital. The Healthy Beginnings program is the 2024 recipient of funds raised through membership and donations. Annual membership will make a difference in the lives of many in the community. Today, we were fortunate enough to host the Ontario Chamber of Commerce monthly “Good Morning Ontario” event. Leaders gave an overview of who we are and some of the exciting projects we have coming up. After, participants toured the hospital seeing firsthand some of our newest projects, including the Outpatient Pharmacy and Observation Unit.
