For our 30 years anniversary, we look back at the 30 years that have made MVRDV what it is today. We carry on with the year 1997! A game-changer for the office typology, and our official inaugural project, the Villa VPRO is completed. The proposal departs from traditional cellular office environments by inviting occupants to transition seamlessly from one floor to the next through an undulating and stepped concrete landscape. What started as a very individualist project for the (somewhat skeptical) staff of VPRO turned into a workplace revolution that prefigured the playful offices of Google and others.
