They were England's biggest boyband of the 00s, selling 15 million records - now the stories behind Blue's heyday are laid bare in a tell all biography, Blue: All Rise.

To be released on October 19, the tome covers the rise - and fall - of the four-piece, whose hits included All Rise and One Love.

From meeting "rude" fashion designer Donatella Versace - who thought she was greeting her favourite band "Blur" - to Lee Ryan , now 34, having to stick L-plates on the Porsche he bought before even getting his license, the lads lived a life of fame and debauchery.

Ah, the classic life of a 'pop-n-roll' star, eh?

Our Story: Blue: All Rise

Told in hilarious anecdotes, the boys chart their time in the band - often spent either high, causing trouble or on the arm of a beautiful woman...or all three at once.

Lee - who was coined Shagger of the Year by The Sun's Bizarre column - dated a string of models and pop stars during his time in the spotlight and, a keen prankster, he tells the story of handing Cherie Blair a piece of "trick-chewing gum" while at a No. 10 soirée - for her to return 10 minutes later with a blue mouth.

He was anything if not on brand, we guess.

The band had a hiatus from 2006-2009, with the lads going their separate ways to varying degrees of solo success.

Admitting they had staff to do everything for them, the temptation of women and drugs often was often much for them to handle, leading them into a downward spiral.

Duncan James , 39, who descended into heavy drug use, and later came out as gay, began hosting the National Lottery Live on BBC1, recalling a rather unfortunate incident that none of us would have noticed at the time: “I farted and, somehow, was unable to stop following through.

“So I stood there, a boyband star turned prime-time TV entertainer gazing out at the country’s biggest audience, eating their dinners, and I’m having a panic attack, secretly gay, taking anti-depressants to cope with stress and I have just soiled my underpants, live on air.”

Now a cast member in EastEnders , Lee was once sleeping in Duncan's attic in west London when he decided to stage his comeback on Celebrity Big Brother , though his love-rat performance put the country offside.

To deal with the backlash he self-medicated with alcohol, eventually getting arrested for drink-driving and suspected cocaine possession.

Antony Costa , 36, suffered as his mounting debts and tax bills ate up any money he made while in the group.

His home in Hertfordshire was repossessed and he was hit with a £600,000 tax bill - in the end he says he couldn't even afford a bus ticket.

Simon Webbe , 39, although was fond of the drink - recalling a time while on tour where he doesn't remember starting multiple fights - came off a little easier after the band split, with a stint on Strictly and representing the UK at Eurovision.

Looking back on their time in the band with a smile, Duncan concludes: "Despite all the mayhem, the madness, the money problems that have come with it, I think we’re incredibly grateful."
