Helene Kröller-Müller

Art, nature and architecture

The mixture of art, nature and architecture is the result of Helene’s ideas. Her ideal was to create a museum exhibiting the best international art in the middle of a beautiful natural area. Successive curators have made this dream a reality in their own unique ways and made sure the museum keeps in step with the times. The Kröller-Müller Museum is an exceptional museum and the only one of its kind in the Netherlands.

Collection

The museum is in possession of the second largest collection of Van Gogh works in the world, consisting of nearly 90 paintings and over 180 drawings. The collection also includes masterpieces by modernist masters such as Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso, and Piet Mondrian. Laid out around the sculpturegarden are more than 160 sculptures by iconic artists ranging from Aristide Maillol and Jean Dubuffet to Marta Pan and Richard Serra.
