another diatribe ,utter nonsense from this papabrowne, you see this nowadays churches springing up in affluent countries, USA, Britain , etc. what of Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Omar, Rwanda, Mali, let them breakdown barriers and forray into the unknown, well maybe that is wht the jet is allabout, i abhor ALL religious worshipping in all there ramifications, never been to one and never will i be to one till i die.
.

How can prosperity mongers go to those death zones? You don't want them to enjoy their tithe-acquired-loots? Man, don't invite fire on yourself o grin grin

@biina: God bless you man,,and His grace and mercies shall continue to abound in your life,,,I have gone through all your posts on this issue,,though there others who have given very useful contribution but I think you have put a balanced for only those with discerning spirits that corrolates with intelligence would understand.Once again God bless you and the likes of Kunlesho!!
In the US,,men of God like Benny Hinn and Joel Ostein had been made by their church members to retract statements initially made to the public that were controversial agaisnt the Bible,,,they came out in the public and news to apologise and correct the error and they admitted that they were Humans notwithstanding their being Pastors.Recently too,,Barack Obama pastor for 20 years during Obama campaign made statements that were inimical to Obama's aspiration,,,as result of that, the pastor was fired and a new pastor employed,,ultimately that made Obama and the family resigned from the church.Revd.Jesse Jackson, during Obama campaigns too,,made a statement that was of jealousy and inimical to Obama's aspiration,,at the end Jesse Jackson and his son had to apologise to that effect in the public.
Now you wanna wonder why these men of God above are kept under check in US??the reason is that in the US,,,they have had many pastors who had used religion to manipulate peoples life and subsequently murdered hundreds of people in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Agood example is Revd Jimi Jones saga where almost 1000 people were murdered in just one day.
However, in Nigeria, am so marvel to note that we assume our pastors re perfect and they make no mistakes,,,that is not true they human and particularly prone to making errors and mistakes. One other thing that baffles me is that RCCG have kept quite over this saga and to me that is not right and it sparks a lot questioning and doubts from the world the church want to reach out to.And many of the contributors in favor of RCCG who are members of the church have not shown any sign of what the preach,,how can you be calling someone a fool because the person does not hold thesame view with you?or why would you wish someone death because he sees something wrong with your church which you don't see.
What RCCG members should know is that ,,,whenever they are being criticised,,they should not bother with the fact that the person critic ising is their enemy ,rather they should bother themselves with if what they re been criticised about is true or false.

Let's take another look at Pastor Eunuch's new jet, paid for with looted and laundered money from Nigeria's criminal elite, as well as the salaries of the desperate poor who feel that this fast talking swindler can secure them a place in heaven.

Mowire your question is a legitimate one.  Why should anyone care where Pastor Adeboye gets his money ?

I'll tell you why we care, as illustrated by only the most recent example.    It is a matter of public record that ex-president Obasanjo and his cronies recently stole 16 billion US dollars that SHOULD have been used to provide Nigeria with grid electricity.  If that theft had not occurred and the money was utilized for its intended purpose of reviving Nigeria's dead industrial sector with much needed electrical power, nobody would have cared in the slightest what Obasanjo did with his personal funds.

Tragically, the theft of 16 billion dollars DID occur, and with no consequence to the perpetrator whatsoever, thereby condemning Nigeria to yet more years of empty promises and abject, debilitating poverty, so it is entirely understandable and logical that the 200 million victims of that epic crime would be ABSOLUTELY ENRAGED to hear of Obasanjo donating even a dime of his stolen money to a jet-setting, filthy rich pastor,  or anyone else for that matter, while defiantly thumbing his nose at the very notion of justice and loot recovery.

I hope this answers your question.

Jakumo! I don't know how you expected the above to answer my question. PLEASE tell us where you got the story that Obasanjo donated/contributed to buy the jet for RCCG

smileyBecommrich frankly you made my day. I've read your more recent posts from pg3 and again I am "comforted".
Don't have much time on my hand now. Later

Today 18:28 (1 second ago)

Sir
I must say that this was an excellent piece that you have written. From the content of your article, I can see that you have a basic understanding of the bible. The bible clearly speaks about the end times and many who will pose as Pastors, but will be wolves in sheep clothing. The following scriptures bear testimony to that fact. Matthew 24 verse 24; 2 Peter 2 1-3; Acts 17:29-30; > The key question to ask is will Jesus buy a private jet if he came to the world in the 21st century? The best scripture to look for an answer is Luke 9:58
I will however like you to examine the Christian message independently from Mr Adeboye or such people. The key message of Christianity is to reconcile man back to God. When God created the world, he created a perfect world for our first parents (Adam and Eve) to enjoy. However, they both sinned against God and as a result, the sin nature entered the human race. God states that all who sin must be punished, however, in his love for us, he sent his only Son Jesus Christ to pay the punishment for our sins, so that we can escape God’s just punishment (eternal separation from God in the lake of fire; have our sins forgive and come into eternal relationship with him. I will recommend that you get a bible and read it with a open heart.
Finally, contrary to what many false teachers preach, when you become a Christian, persecution and suffering become great possibilities (Matthew 5 verse 10-12; Matthew 24:9; 2 timothy 2:12).

Fresh Facts Emerge on ‘Redeemed Jet’
By Chinedu Eze, 04.02.2009

The purchase of a private jet, a Gulfstream 4XP with registration number 707EA, might have been attributed to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in error.
Documents available to THISDAY yesterday showed that the aircraft was purchased by five members of the church and will be run as a charter service, but priority is to be given to Adeboye who will be given “free rides” to ease his movement within and outside the continent.

THISDAY had erroneously quoted a price of $28 million but the aircraft papers showed that the aircraft, a 1996 model, was purchased at $10 million (N1.4 billion).

The five members of the church, whose names are being withheld for confidential reasons, made a down payment of 30 per cent of the cost while a first generation bank gave a loan of $7 million for the balance.
“The aircraft is the collateral,” a bank official conversant with the transaction told THISDAY.
The aircraft is to run private charters, with proceeds to be used to offset the loan and pay for its maintenance as well as settle the personnel cost of running the aircraft.

“The business plan is well laid out,” another source told THISDAY. “The Redeemed Church did not put down a kobo. It is not their aircraft. Pastor Adeboye does not have a kobo in it. It is unfortunate that the man is being savaged all over the media and on the internet for something he knows nothing about. Unfortunately, he is not the type to come out and be defending himself or issuing media statements.”

The source told THISDAY that some members of the church had expressed concern about the cumbersome flight schedules the pastor of one of Nigeria’s biggest churches has had to cope with.
“If he wants to go to Banjul, in Gambia, it is a tortuous journey, flying from one connecting point to the other,” the source explained. “This obviously influenced the decision of some entrepreneurs in the church to have this sort of arrangement in which Pastor Adeboye will enjoy free rides and can readily organise his journeys. But the aircraft will pay for itself eventually. It neither belong to Redeemed Church nor Adeboye.”

The aircraft arrived Lagos from Bahamas on Sunday, March 8, 2009.
It is a transatlantic aircraft that has the capacity of about 15 passengers – depending on the customisation.
Adeboye had come under criticism in the media and on internet discussion rooms for allegedly being “insensitive” at these economic crunch times and for allegedly abandoning his simple lifestyle for the flamboyance of jet-age pastors.
The General Overseer of Living Faith Worldwide, a.k.a. Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has a Challenger aircraft, with number D6640.

With this new development, I have decided to sell all my wordily possessions in order to quickly hand over the cash realized to Pastor Eunuch, so that his new jet can remain aloft to lift us all up to the Promised Land, where all is well and bra-clips never get stuck.

Re: Pastor Adeboyes's Private Jet A Must Read by wirinet(m): 11:19pm On Apr 02, 2009
If we cannot see that in today,s Nigeria there is everything wrong with a pastor acquiring a jet whichever way, while the bulk of his followers continue to live in poverty, then i think we will slide into the dark ages until the next century.
These things cannot happen in sane countries. If it was the uk, i am sure scotland yard will interogate the source of the funds for the Jet (even the 30% being contributed by the good samaritans). If that 30% was used to set up schools by wealthy members of RCCG (like Ophrah did in SA), i am sure that real prosperity will begin to affect poorer families whose children will be better educated.

I wonder how christainity, which started as a pious religion has now compete with corporate world and corporare practices. You people should remember that the fisrt missionaries that came to africa set up schools, hospitals and houses for their host communities free of charge. And the priests did not live in a differnt class from their followers.

Any way that is the black mans mentality, once we escape "the poverty trap" we are infected with the Look at me now" decease.

Someone says that it is not our money, but I beg to disagree. Churches are registers as a social service and money is contributed by the public (members), that is why the public does not benefit from them in the way of Taxes. So one should think the general public especially members donating this money should benefit something outside prayers, salvation and anointing. The pastors should engage in projects that will benefit the greatest number of people.

I honestly do not understand why the GOs need jet planes, I thought churches are other pastors and the Go does not have to be in every church in every country.Even the British prime minister who i consider has more responsibility does not have a private Jet, he flies on british airways. Also i do not think bill gates who has microsoft office in every major city in the world flies that much.

there is noting wrong for a man of God to own  privet jet  he has been ministry for long as long as he is using it to the glory of  GOD, all things belongs to God. i don't know who deserve to have Private jet, stop giving excuse about the poor people, the will always be poor people in our midst, pray let God bless you so that you can show  us how to manage wealth, that will be more important  than trying to addvise him on air how to live as  savant of God.

I don’t normally dabble into controversial issues of men of God, that is because I have the fear of God at heart.

The problem with some of us, or how else do I put this message across, may God help me here, some of us are men of honour in our day to day lives, we are urshers in our churches, we are exemplary fathers to our children on daily basis, scolding them for the use of foul languages, we are good husbands to our wives. We are exemplary staffs to our numerous bosses and those of us that own our business are very good bosses to our staff.

But when we come on the internet, I think it is the allure of being incognito and the anonymity that makes us loose our moral fabric and judgement, some of the pronouncement and crass talk that some of our suppose soldiers of Christ come out with would have made the Pharisees and Sadducees employ some of us as top attorney for the devil. On the one hand we believe in God on the other hand it is an acceptable norm for us to come out and preach against men of God, pastor bashing has become a favourite past time, I don’t care about atheist bashing pastors, what else do you expect from atheist anyway, but those of us who claim to be born again Christains who uses the cloak of secrecy the internet guarantees us as an advantage to score a cheap shot at men of God be warned.

What some of us don’t know is, when the lord says you will be blessed a thousand fold, where do you anti-christ think the money, fortune, blessing would come from. You think God will print or build a house for you, it would only come from the unbelievers. If for example it is true that Obasanjo gave pastor Adebayo a plane, if he Obasanjo were to own up to the man of God, that the money that I use to buy you this gift was from the missing $ 16 billion electricity fund. Do any serious christain think Daddy GO will accept it. Some of us Christians must without hesitation retrace our steps and ask, beg God for forgiveness because he sees all, even the anonymity of the internet will not protect and save you on the day of judgement.

As for the non believers what else can I say more grease to your elbows, kudos for a good job your time of reckoning is coming soon.

Thank God, it is Ebenezer Obadare that started this, his points are more logical, and he had not passed judgment yet, I believe; correct me if I am wrong. He had left room for defense. How I wish we can reason in the same vein.
I also admire those who contributed with reasons, with your contribution on such issues, we would find solutions.

When kenneth Copeland of South Africa bought a private Jet, where did he get his money from? I put it to you.

When Oyedepo got his ask your self where he got the money from, ?

Deeper Life Christian center single handed built a 22 Billion international conference center, where did they get the money from?

Benny Hinn also is flourishing in the blessing that comes with that office, where did he get it from?

T. D Jakes and the rest are the few to mention, I guess the all got it from the oil money and the state elite.

There is one funny thing many dumb a**** think, they feel one serving God should die in poverty, that God is not a God of wealth and all that,

I pity una because by the time I go buy one give my local pastor una go talk say na government money abi?

Yes if you guys think its government money, is it an easy task for political elites pay so much to a Pastor without seeing the evidence as if where so?

Redeem is one of the largest christian sect in this country if not the largest use your head and think what population can do to a given course if brought in agreement to contribute ----example tithe paying.

That is how God Almighty has designed Christianity to look like,

Its a blessing that comes with the office, it's not for everybody.
