Orange resident Luis Montes lived out a fisherman’s dream over the weekend when he caught a whopping 37-pound carp in Irvine Lake.
The fish set a new record, being the largest carp ever caught at the lake. The fish was released back into the water.
Montes used a European carp bait called vanilla boilie to catch the fish, according to the weekly fishing report sent out.
