Shutterfly Holiday Card Review 2012

This year I made my holiday cards with Shutterfly. I received these cards complimentary for purposes of review, but this isn't my first order with Shutterfly - I have purchased several photo books, thank you cards, Christmas cards as well as other photo gifts such as mugs with them and I've always been pleased with the way they've turned out.

I ordered them on November 12th and received them on November 20th - so about six business days which is good turnaround time.

I selected a simple full single photo front and a single photo in the back with a caption of our names. I designed the image for the front using some cute digital scrapbooking kits (The kits I used were by Lily Designs, New Life Dreams Designs, and Jofia Devoe.) I clipped out a photo of Photo Book Baby where he happened to be holding a soccer ball. It ended up being perfect to replace with a big shiny ornament! You don't have to do anything complicated however, there's lots of very nice design options and it's so easy and quick to do. Just pick a couple of your favorite photos and plop them into your favorite design.

Shutterfly cards are printed on matte, thick cardstock. I was very happy with the thickness of the cards as well as the crisp image quality. In comparison to the Mixbook and the MyPublisher cards I printed last year, I would say the cards feel equal in thickness, but the Shutterfly paper is a bit more firm and stiff.

If you're looking to make custom photo holiday cards, Shutterfly is currently running a 30% off deal on flat stationary cards (or 20% on folded greeting cards)! Remember you can stack coupon codes with Shutterfly. If your order is $50 or more, use SHIP50 to get FREE shipping!

I'm looking forward to sending these cards out as well as getting some lovely holiday cards from friends and family this year! I'm a bit behind in getting my gifts together this year, so it is nice to have something checked off my list!
