• Pamela Anderson revealed huge career news.
  • The Baywatch star and beauty mogul is finally the owner of a skincare brand.
  • She shared her acquisition of Sonsie—a simple line that centers on skin health, not perfection—on Instagram.

Since the day Pamela Anderson stepped off of Baywatch’s Emerald Bay Beach, she has had plenty of opportunities to partner with skincare brands, the star explained in a series of recent interviews. But none of the pitches were right—they either made false promises to vanish imperfections, contained ingredients that weren’t cruelty-free (she’s a staunch animal advocate), or had egregiously unsustainable packaging. It’s almost as if the door waited to open until Anderson was ready—and given her recent leap into the makeup-free lifestyle, now is the perfect time for the 56-year-old to join Sonsie as the brand’s new owner and co-founder.

Anderson announced the exciting news on Instagram. “Sonsie is an emerging, beautiful, vegan & cruelty-free skincare company… with an important message that I want to help share with the world,” she wrote. “I am so proud to be a part of this world… and on my terms, finally.”

In an accompanying video, she explained that to her, skincare is about embracing a bare face and leaning into authenticity, rather than trying to correct yourself into a beauty standard-abiding box. “Being barefaced is being intimate, it’s being vulnerable, and it’s just a reminder that you are beautiful as you are,” she said in the clip.

“It’s about accepting yourself where you are right now,” she elaborated in an interview with Vogue. At some point, Anderson became tired of keeping up with must-try, trending ingredients that promised to completely alter her appearance. The pining for results, she realized, was keeping her from being present. “All of us have tried all sorts of different things—your friends are doing it, then you’re doing it,” the mom of two said. “But I just came to a point where I felt like, ‘This is it. I just want to do me, keep my skin hydrated, and look after myself, but I don’t want to have to think about tomorrow. I want to think about right now. Live and how I feel in this moment.’”

To be clear, Sonsie is an already established brand and product line that was originally founded by model Marie von Behrens-Felipe, per Women’s Wear Daily. Anderson found herself in talks with Felipe after her son’s girlfriend, Paula Bruss, introduced her to the products and, ultimately, Felipe. “It just made the most sense to me out of all of the options in front of me,” Anderson told Vogue.

According to the brand’s website, it stands by simplified ingredient lists and straightforward formulas. “I think that it’s always been part of my journey to challenge beauty,” Anderson told Vogue. “That’s what I like about Sonsie. It’s not false promises, it’s self-acceptance of yourself and where you are in this moment. Not beating yourself up about something, but just feeling a little more free.”

To WWD, she elaborated: “It’s about celebrating where you’re at, celebrating in your beauty journey, being OK with who you are right now. Really embracing where you’re at and making yourself feel the best and representing your highest self.”

“It’s been quite the journey,” she continued. “I’m so glad it’s finally here.”

A few of Anderson’s personal recommendations from Sonsie are the Moisture Mask and Basic Balm. “It stays on,” she said of the balm. “It’s not a lip balm that I have to keep on reapplying and reapplying. It actually stays, keeps its shine. And then the mask is something that I’m wearing all the time….I wear it as my makeup. And the serum is really luxurious. No scent, which I really love. It doesn’t conflict with my love potions that I like to pour all over myself, my own concoctions.”

The brand’s three core products speak volumes already, but Anderson promised that there’s more to come. “My secret weapons will be coming out in spring,” she teased. “We’ll see where we go from here. There’s a couple of things that I’m working on right now that are really important to me, that I can’t live without.”
