Hi there, I’m Henk. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and I am passionate about helping people build healthy relationships and find hope in challenging circumstances. Life is a path not meant to be walked alone. My goal as a counsellor is to help you better understand and navigate the journey you are on. I know that it takes courage and vulnerability to seek counselling, and I approach my clients with warmth, respect, and compassion.
I work with couples, families, and individuals (aged 10+) experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, self-harm, anger, and attachment issues. In my work I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I provide Christian counselling to clients who request it.
I hold a MA degree in Counselling Psychology, BA degree, and a BC Teaching certificate (with 13 years of teaching experience). My wife and I have been married for 13 years and have four children.
