Season 2 – My Name Is Earl

      2006 Comedy List
91% 11 Reviews Tomatometer 92% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score Earl has taken one too many wrong turns on the highway of life as a bully and a low-rent crook, but he wins a lottery and has an epiphany: He will turn his good fortune into a life-changing event, as he sets out to right all the wrongs from his past. Despite his seemingly limited intelligence, he is oddly effective -- and has a voice and style all his own. Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Premiered Dec 11 Buy Now

Audience Member Super funny, and some nice heartfelt character moments Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The redneck philosophical journey of Earl continues and well, shit keeps happening. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Definetely not as good as the first season, and there were some issues for example Our cops is on didn't make any sense because nescobar couldn't speak English until earl taught him how There were a few more things that made no sense in that episode And the next episodes timeline was all messed up as well Other than those two episodes everything else was still good and even though I had some issues with the season, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member My Name is Earl loses its way in Season 2 and gets a little too preachy and cartoonish. Pretty criminal turned do-gooder Earl Hickey continues to make up for his past wrongs, but he soon gets pulled into his ex-wife's scheme to sell a stolen truck and works to help her beat the wrap. Earl's moral compass goes kind of wonky as he convinces a friend to become a stripper, helps Catalina and Randy pull off a fraudulent Green Card marriage, and services as a wingman for a French lothario who comes to Camden to sleep with a bunch of women. Yet the shows gets all sanctimonious about treating people with abnormalities as "freaks" or cleaning up the environment or gambling (feeling more like a "the more to know" PSA). Still, a lot of the humor works and delivers plenty of laughs; though the characters are becoming more buffoonish. Also, the show tries a few format changes to keep things fresh, like a Cops crossover episode and a Claymation episode. Plus, a ton of guest stars are featured, including Burt Reynolds, Roseanne Barr, Jenny McCarthy, Christian Slater, John Leguizamo, John Waters, Norm MacDonald, and even Dog the Bounty Hunter. Season 2 of My Name is Earl is real hit-and-miss, but there's more good than bad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Austin Smith New York Post "My Name is Earl" is a series on the way down, if not out. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Kat Brown Empire Magazine Sharp, well-observed and consistently funny, My Name Is Earl is a daft treat. Rated: 4/5 Oct 3, 2018 Full Review William Thomas Empire Magazine There's no dip in quality for this second season as Earl's efforts to right every wrong are occasionally disrupted by ex-wife Joy's...arrest and upcoming trial. Rated: 4/5 Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The series returns eager to impress, but not over-eager. There's a greater emphasis on developing the characters, especially Earl's ex-wife, Joy. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Kelly West CinemaBlend Earl is a great show because while it does mercilessly poke fun at lower class trailer park dwelling rednecks, the level of heart within the series, which is often displayed by Earl...adds a nice balance to the series. Rated: 4/5 Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Travis Fickett IGN Movies This season proved that the show wasn't a one-trick pony and that its characters were far more realized and versatile than those you tend to find in situation comedies.
