Welcome to Granny Squares!

Have you ever been drawn to some awesome crochet blankets on the internet? Many of them are made with granny squares or granny square variations. Not to mention the handbags, pillows, placemats, scarves, and cardigans! You just can’t believe how many designs are made with such a simple pattern.

So now, you’re going to learn how to make some granny squares! The content will cover starting in rounds, crocheting the basic square pattern, changing colours, and piecing together to make larger projects. This course is based on the foundational techniques that were covered in the Crochet Basics course; thus, we won’t go into details for each stitch. We will focus on making granny squares!

By the end of the course, you will know how to make a granny square as big or small as your heart may wish! You will learn two ways to start the granny square as well as two different joining methods. The sky’s the limit!

Throughout the videos, you’ll learn how to:

  • crochet the basic granny square
  • get gauge
  • make a coaster set
  • make a headband
  • crochet a granny square blanket
  • join granny squares two ways to make a pillowcase
